what happened to us that we no longer fight for our lives?The threat of punishment hanging over your head if you defend yourself is a large part of what happened. You can be punished for defending yourself from criminals in any part of the country now. In Arizona it was once unheard of to prosecute anyone who was defending himself against criminals, but it happens fairly often now.

But come on, in any of those kidnapping cases, if the guy ends up dead(whether by action of the girl or an adult) they're going to press charges?
Or if these people had fought back before being raped, heck before being kidnapped, and killed these two animals they'd be charged? I don't believe so, this ain't England yet.
I can see if it were simple burglary-chase situation but this was obviously not that.
