I am all for helping people when they are our own. But we are paying for these immigrants to be on welfare! I am against this! Baldacci, Allen and the Catholic Church are responsible for this.
One Somali woman was living in Atlanta and was paying $900 dollars a month for her housing. One of her friends in Maine told her to move up here! Housing is CHEAP!
She did. Now she is paying $75 dollars a month for a 4 bedroom, two bath house. A lot of Mainers would LOVE living like this.

There is only one way out: cancel all welfare and "social services". The parasites will move on quickly

''But everybody is so politically correct, nobody wants to say anything.''
Even in Maine.
Do the new residents stay through the Maine Winter? It aint exactly Somalia.

In a three-page letter Raymond wrote, ''This large number of new arrivals cannot continue without negative results for all. The Somali community must exercise some discipline and reduce the stress on our limited finances and our generosity.'' This guy actually said this? I'm dumbfounded. He's gonna get fired for sure. And hey, when he does, send him down this way. Maybe he could stir up the same stink sitting on the Tucson City Council, the dweebs who want to DOUBLE their salaries on the ballot next year. Yeah, you Mainahs, send that boy over this way!

If I were this mayor, I'd be as concerned about terrorist cells in my town than welfare recipients. Somalia is a hotbed of terrorist activity and where better for a group of terrorists to hide out but in a community filled with other people that look and talk like them.
My hunch is that the FBI will be hanging out a lot in this town in the coming months.

LOL!
Textbook case of chickens coming home to roost -- on STUPID wealth redistributionists. I fervently hope these "chickens" break the bank up there. Serve them right. BTW, we've already broken the bank at the national level. They've simply been able to paper over the problem by creating "money." And we're watching THOSE chickens roosting all over the financial markets as you read this.
Milton Friedman warned that "When you pay people to be poor, you'll soon have LOTS of poor people."

All the working folks need to move out and let the idiot politicians support these malingerers and welfare families.

Somalis are refugees thus entitled to a smorgasbord of benefits as soon as they get off the banana boat and for the next 7 years. I think the Hmong who jammed into a town in Minnesota were the same.

Maine will eventually change its name to New Somalia or New Puntland.

I live in Boston. I am just here to finish school, so I did not need to change my state of residency and I chose not to, because I did not want to be a resident of the People's Republic of Taxachusetts. Since I've been coming to FR, I've seen that this corrupt, liberal sewage down here in Boston isn't half as bad as Maine is becoming. Maybe I'll take refuge in New Hampshire some day. Is there any state with no property tax, income tax, or sales tax? It's tough to call Maine my home, when it is dominated by socialists and fascists. I feel like I've been forced from a conquered homeland.
