Big business time for you coming up, bad seed -- Halloween. Lot of straw men being sold as decorations.

You argue with yourself, did you know? How? You make up straw men and throw stones at them. They are your straw men, and yours alone. You don't seem to really care a wit what the other guy says, as long as you can make a straw man analoge and argue with that.

You just did that in your response -- two straw men at the least, and there's no motive to or benefit in discussing with deaf stone head crafters of straw men. Take your miscontruationary misapproriated mocks elsewhere, as they are just waste and a signal to your deafness and meaness.

I think the shooters are muslim terrorists. I didn't think that until a child was hit. I can understand targeting adults because many serial killers do. I may be wrong, but I think that children are rarely "just killed". They are usually molested first. Even the most hardened killer thinks killing kids is a bad thing, except for muslim terrorists. Time will tell if I'm right...

Does anyone think it more probable than not that a sniper possessed of such shooting accuracy necessitates that he is the recipient of some sort of military training? Or is this degree of shooting skill representative of the average hunter? No axe to grind - just asking.

Cordially,

What do you base this on?

"He might have thought: 'I'll take it right to where you said was safe to show you that no one and no location is safe.'"

Gee, that doesn't sound like Muslim terrorist training does it.

The theories are not mutually exclusive. If some terrorists amused themselves at nudie bars, perhaps others amused themselves with violent video games.

Deranged killers have sprung up in cities and towns all over this nation. What is curious about this case is that a)there is a random targeting of individuals and b) it just happens to be centered around the nation's capital.

With regard to a) this does not seem to fit with the usual thrill killer psychopath who kills for pleasure. The Dahmers, Bundys and Gacys of this world like to get up close and personal with their victims. There is little personal gratification in such a long distance approach nor is there the opportunity to watch one's victim die. Therefore, one is left to conclude that the motive is not personal but rather just to kill for the unsettling effect it will have on the wider community. In other words, terrorism. The random shooting of a child is consistent with this, as mentioned by a previous poster.

With regard to b), the nation's capital is one of the main targets for terrorists. Some might say the foremost. I believe that it is not simply coincidence that this is occuring in and around DC. Of all the places in this country where a local nut could spring up it just happens to be in this area. Presumably some of those killed will be members of families who work for the US goverment, also.

I vote new Islamic method of operation. Perps either local sympathizers or the imported variety.

The killer's chilling motive was his own amusement.

How do they know this?

You might want to ask Carl Rowan.

IIRC, his excuse/alibi/explanation was that the 22 he shot the pool swimmer with belonged to his FBI agent son,and FBI agents are amongst the elites who get to carry and own handguns in DC. What I didn't hear was a reason why it was permissible for a FBI agent to leave his gun with somebody who wasn't legally able to possess it,or why Rowan wasn't arrested for attempted murder and assault. Not that I really needed to know. This was in DC,and he is a politically connected black.

I think a actual terrorist could find more appropiate targets in the DC area that a woman pushing a shopping cart,or a kid leaving a school. Another factor is the shooter isn't "taking credit" for it. Terrorist organizations need money to operate, and nothing brings in the money like a successful attack "credited" to the terrorist.

I don't have any actual proof, though. Just suspiscions.

You may be right, Pete. The agonizing thing is no one seems to have much information at this time to make a good call on it. All we can do is guess. I WORRY about this being a terrorist, as this would mean a new front is opening up in the Heartland. I HOPE it is a domestic nut, I think we would be able to catch a nut quicker.

This very scenario is what scares the crap out of the liberal Socialists. They know there is no defense, and no real cover from a motivated sniper.

They are right to be afraid...very afraid.

That's why they are so frantic to demonize scoped rifles now as "sniper rifles". Imagine their terror if they went too far with their Socialist plans and several THOUSAND angry Americans went hunting for THEM...
