Freeh refused comment when asked to respond.
Makes sense to me. How'd you like to be the head of the FBI under Clinton?
If you can't think of enough questions, I'm sure we FReepers will gladly provide some!
TXnMA (No Longer!!!)
Clinton went out of his way to get rid of a real FBI director (coincidentally the day before Vince Foster got dead and the FBI suffocated the subsequent investigation).
Freeh was in charge during Filegate.
Freeh did what Clinton wanted and took people off ME terrorist investigations and turned them after white, religious men--yet he ignored those same white, religious men when they were involved in the OKC bombing.
German agent Andreas Strassmeir as agent provocateur at Elohim City, Andi knew McVeigh, Carol Howe testified that Andi led a recon trip to OKC for a good place to bomb--Andi came to US to infiltrate white supremacist groups shortly after Freeh went to Germany to get cooperation between intelligence services. Yet all mention of Elohim City and the people there were scotched to the best of Freeh's and Clinton's ability to do so.
This is interesting: CBS News tonight said that two "former Clinton administration officials" complanied that Freeh had no "respect" for President Clinton and "refused to take orders" from A.G. Reno, and deliberately tried to turn the FBI into an "independent" organization.
First of all I'd never trust Clintonistas (unidentified I notice) or CBS. It's clearly an effort to maintain a distance between Clinton and Freeh. I just wonder if Freeh is trying to maintain the distance or Clinton. If Clinton thought he could dump some of his own dirt onto Freeh, he'd certainly jump at it and no matter if they were enemies or friends.
