I think it's a warning to the political leaders in D.C.

I think it's just a Charlie Starkweather/Charles Whitman/Columbine type whacko.

LOL. Some disgruntled terrorist pissed off at Falwell for calling Mohammed a terrorist.

although the press makes it sound as if people are all hiding away and wringing their hands).

We're not. We're also not waiting around for psychobabblists to assuage our grief and fear. The whole notion infuriates me. What would you do if it was your area? Using the "you" pronoun to refer to anyone reading and not in the Merryland area. You know, especially on THIS forum, every one of you would be out and about doing your business. I'm thinking most of you would, while mindful of potential danger, encourage your children to live normal lives...ie go to school, etc.

Merryland is a goofy liberal state that I love to hate but two things.....We ain't electing that idiot Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and we ain't a bunch of cowards hiding under covers from that nasty sniper. Somewhere deep inside of the citizens of this liberal hell of a hole, there are REAL Americans.

Heck, we even resent the very honest Governor Spendenning, the little lesbian Mikulski and that blow-hard Sarbanes taking advantage of this event for air time. WE are the citizens of Merryland. WE have no microphones to show how glib we are. WE must work, pay our bills and live our lives. And by golly that is just what we are doing.

Baltimore and Philly are close enough for "day trips" for reconnaissance. This of course assumes that if the perp does kill in those cities there will be random searches of cars traveling to the DC area.

Maybe they don't have that far to drive. Or are exempt from searches, by virtue of ministerial plates, or National Naval Medical Center/Bethesda stickers on the vehicle, or some other VIP status indicators. Can't have any profiling going on, you know!

I'm very happy that you understood that I didn't have it directed to you. I feel like writing to the Maryland and D.C. papers and telling them, what did you expect? It was only a matter of time that someone would realize that there are whole states that are target rich environments. What the hell are they thinking?

That's a quote from an article--obviously the person quoted (Tori Hartman) in the ABCnews article is just trying to point a suspicous finger at christian-conservatives. I think I've seen and heard it all. I hope they catch the perp soon, this is getting rediculous.

The chief is absolutely RIGHT to be angry about information that they POLICE wish witheld being leaked to the general public by the press.

Not only does this represent a loss of control evidence to weed out the true confession from possibly thousands of FAKE confessions...I'm reminded of something else I read earlier this morning:

In Chechnya, the press indiscriminately printing dangerous information is responsible for the "loss" of an agent who was deeply placed in the al Qaeda network.

As has been demonstrated with this and many other cases (ESPECIALLY post-911) the press has caused numerous cases of public hysteria by being so intent on being the first to scoop that they don't wait to find out if what they're reporting is even remotely true!

The press needs to start acting responsibly.

CONNECTIONS??

13 13 13

The Death Card is the 13th card in the major tarot cards.
An investigation is still in progress for the Sept. 14th shooting. I'm wondering if there might have been a Sept. 13th shooting which would have been Friday the 13th.

13 Tarot Card, Sept. 13th, Friday the 13th. (just a thought)

I also wonder if the Michaels craft stores is related to ArchAngel Michael in the Bible. I read that Michael means "who is as god". He is suppose to weigh good vs. evil in peoples soul before they go to heaven. I wonder if in the snipers twisted mind there is a relation between the grim reaper death card and the ArchAngel Michael. ArchAngel Michael is related to the Temperance Tarot card which I think is the number 12 Tarot card.

Just Speculation...

"I ain't even got a garage--you can call home and ask my wife!!!!"

"The freeper who drafted the crescent moon from the killing map may not have been so far off the mark."

Just thinking about the apparent deviation out of pattern in Fredricksburgh - which has been bothering me - the shooter MAY be trying to make a "sickle" out of map points.

Great post. I'm trying to think how I'd handle this if it happened in my area, but I'm afraid I just don't see it happening. I live in Alabama. Dove season opened for me this past Saturday and I still have two shotguns and two cases of shells in my truck parked outside my office door. (For emphasis, I'm a female.) My son just called and wanted to know where the key to the gun cabinet was because he's going dove hunting this afternoon. We are not the exception, we are the rule in this neck of the woods. Frankly, it would be dangerous for a sniper around here. Y'all come!

But then again, if it turns out to be ME terrorists, we'll just have to deal with it.

I think we are more than capable of dealing with them. The Israelis would have dealt with them decades ago if it weren't for us running interference for the Arabs. That's the funny thing about the terrorists. They always say we deserve this because of our foreign policy. If it weren't for us meddling in Israelis business Palestinians wouldn't exist.

Go Marylanders!

BTW, Neal Boortz (a conservative talk show host heard in Florida) went into a real good rant yesterday about the "grief counseling racket." I loved it. He said they are taking normal human reactions, "medicalizing" them and making them sound like an illness. I'm sure these counselors are probably arriving in busloads up in the DC area right now - just what nobody needs at a time like this!
