AMT is the "alternative minimum tax". Basically, even if all your deductions are legal, you still end paying more in taxes. Due to inflation and changes in tax laws, the AMT, which was targeted for high earners, is now hitting some people in the middle class.

Investors need to keep in mind that we have recently witnessed an enormous investment bubble fed by Federal Reserve counterfeiting. This will not end when valuations reach historically normal levels. Manias always end with Panics and Panics push stocks below historical valuations. It will take a while to learn how much wealth has been destroyed by the distortion of money by the Fed.
