As a matter of equity the court is not going to allow a man to unilaterally exercise a power to
avoid service and keep money expended by the Air Force in the reasonable expectation that he
would serve.
The legal doctrine is one of unjust enrichment.
I guess the trick is not to tell but get caught. We have a Rube Goldberg toy here. It is unprincipled. The whole structure is untenable IMO.
