Good article, although the basic point should be pretty obvious to any intelligent person, anyway: inspections are meaningless. They didn't find anything the first time: they were about to give Saddam a clean bill of health, only
Hussein Kamel, Saddam's son-in-law and director of his special weapons program, defected and spilled the beans on Saddam's huge anthrax and botulinum-based WMD program. Saddam does not even need to have an active program to blackmail the world: all he needs is a few hundred kilos of powdered, aerosolizable anthrax -- like the stuff he sent to Daschle after he demolished the WTC. That stuff keeps forever. It doesn't even need to be in Iraq. I know what I would do if I were Saddam. And my guess is, that's exactly what he has done.
