Reports from the Indonesian holiday island of Bali say at least 25 people have been killed in a two explosions. Ten foreigners are believed to be among the dead, and more than 100 people were injured - among them Americans, Australians and five Britons.
One of the bombs exploded at a nightclub in Kuta Beach, a popular tourist resort.
The other explosion occurred in central Denpasar, Bali's capital, a police spokesman has said.
This explosion is reported to have gone off 250 metres (825 feet) from the United States consulate in the city.
There is no firm word on the cause of the explosions but the local police say bomb squad officers are investigating.
Chaos and damage
Bali is a popular holiday resort with western tourists.
Eyewitnesses described chaos and extensive damage at Kuta Beach, where the deaths are reported to have occurred.
It has been reported a fire is still burning inside the club and the emergency services have had difficulties reaching the scene due to massive traffic jams in the area.
One witness reported hearing three explosions.
Embassy worriesK
The US embassy in Jakarta has issued a series of warnings in recent weeks that its nationals could be targeted by Islamic militants linked to the al-Qaeda terror group.
The embassy itself closed for several days last month after intelligence reports indicated militant groups were planning car bomb attacks.
BBC Jakarta correspondent Richard Galpin says the embassy has been considering evacuating non-essential staff because of continuing fears of attack.

Police hunting for suspects in Bali blasts By Rita A. Widiadana DENPASAR (JP): Bali Police and the local military were hunting for people who were suspected of causing the blasts that rocked the tourists island on Saturday night as the number of casualties continued to increase. "We have our leads (regarding the suspects) and we are now after them," Bali Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Suyatmo said. "We have deployed all our personnel and they are all combing Bali to look for more possible explosives," said Suyatmo. Earlier reports said there was another blast in Ubud area, but so far there had been no incident there. However, the whole island is now on the alert. Bali has prided itself on its ability to maintain security and to ensure safety of its population and tourists. So far police have made no arrests. Bali provincial administration is scheduled to make an official announcement on the incidents at 7 a.m. today. The blasts that occurred at around 11:30 p.m. shocked the whole island. "This is unbelievable, Bali has always been the safest place," a German diplomat told The Jakarta Post at Sanglah Hospital. Several diplomats from the Australian, Malaysian, and German consulates general on the island visited the hospital following reports that many of the victims were foreigners, mostly Australians. Most of the victims were foreigners who were reveling at Sari Club discotheque on Jl. Legian in Kuta area. The club is exclusively open for foreigners. The blast in front of the club was quite powerful. It left a hole of about two meters in diameter. Bodies were seen strewn at a radius of 10 meters from the center of the blast. The explosion in front of Sari Club, believed to have come from a car bomb, was heard from as far as 12 kilometers from the area. The blast also caused cracks in the buildings along Jl. Legian. Meanwhile by 2:49 a.m. the number of victims sent to Sanglah Hospital had reached 173. Of the number, 14 were confirmed dead.
The Hindu people of Bali are some of the nicest in the world but the few Muslims we saw really made us nervous and seemed ALOT less friendly than Muslims we met in Jordan or Egypt.

From the Miami Herald, October 15, 2001:
MONTREAL -- The Nation of Yahweh had much to celebrate when members gathered in Montreal, their ''New Promised Land,'' last week.
Their leader and messiah, Yahweh Ben Yahweh, 65, just got out of prison after serving nearly 10 years for his part in 14 Miami murders in the 1980s. Their numbers are growing again, and they have come out of hiding.
But the question is: Is their message the same?
In the 1980s, the best of it was to make blacks feel empowered. The worst of it was to brainwash those who became Yahwehs to the degree that they would shout that they would ''die for Yahweh . . . kill for Yahweh.''
