Its telling just the way it would be telling if the AP said a hand gun ban "has become the rallying cry of gun nuts across the country" , or 9-11 "has become the rallying cry of Muslim haters accross the country", A partial birth abortion bill "has become the rallying cry for abortion clinic bombers across the country", Questions about Hillary Clinton's ethics "have become the rallying cry for people who hate strong women across the country" etc.

You're forgetting one small FACT...White Supremists DID protest at the trial.

Now who's spreading propaganda???

”The case has become a rallying cry for white supremacist groups across the nation because the suspects are black while all the victims were white. Weeks before the trial was set to begin, a Nazi group held a rally in Topeka where the case was repeatedly cited. “

A few questions: has the case really become a rallying cry for supremacist groups? Please cite the instances. Are there no non-supremacists who are outraged by the national press treatment of this story?

If a Nazi mentions an evil act, does that mean that I am prevented from mentioning the same evil act? The Nazi Autobahn was the prototype of the limited access interstate highway; does that make Interstates evil? Modern day Nazis also complain about press bias. Does that make Conservatives who complain about press bias Neo-Nazis?

If I, as a news reporter, attempt to make this association, I am smearing people by association. That is ugly and evil. And if you attempt to further that smear, you are in the same immoral camp as the AP reporter.

--Now who's spreading propaganda???--

You and the AP.

Whatever white supremacists did, there are still many more good people who just want equal treatement regardless of race (If you remember that's what the civil rights movement was once supposed to be about). The article doesn't bother mentioning them does it?

Of course not, because the intent was propaganda. In effect saying "If you care about this trial then you're with the nazis"

And as Moneyrunner aptly put it

"If I, as a news reporter, attempt to make this association, I am smearing people by association. That is ugly and evil. And if you attempt to further that smear, you are in the same immoral camp as the AP reporter."
