I agree. They would rather it be one of "us" than one of "them". They are in denial and have been long before 9/11. I am not.

So true, conservababe. Try this one on for size.

A politician wrote: "The earth is degenerating these days. Bribery and corruption abound. Children no longer mind their parents. Every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching.

Things have changed forever, from my perspective. How's that addition to my statement? I've experienced loss before but now maybe because of cable tv, talk radio and the internet, the violence seems pervasive and there is not a day that goes by we don't hear about more senseless killing of innocent human beings.

I do not accept their culture of death and I totally believe it is UBL. The Marine who was killed in Kuwait last week was from Tampa Bay. He was only 20 years old. They are picking people off one or two at a time or going with the Bali type bombing. As long as someone is dying, they're happy. Too bad x-42's USAG Reno "didn't have enough evidence" to pick up UBL. Janet Reno - protecting UBL from prosecution FOR YEARS. And Louis Freeh didn't do us any favors either.

An armed populace as well..might want to add that. The "sheeple" are at disadvantage of being religated to a "reactionary" police force. The laws that have been written foreclose us to serfdom status. We need to get back to an actionary community. One htat adhere's to the Constitution and what it affords us legal ctizens. The right to pretoect ourselves. I know, a sniper hit to the head, you really don't have much of a protection. But my gut feeling tells me that this sniper would not be operating in this guise if he/she had the fear of an actively armed populace ready to gun him/her down in half a heart beat during such act's of cowardice.

They are everywhere! They have tons of them in Houston. I went to one once to look for a wreath for our front door, and it was packed with ladies dressed to the nines and somehow I felt intimidated like I was 13 years old again. I wasn't dressed badly or anything, it was just those ladies looked like they had jumped out of a page from Town and Country magazine, and the sales ladies were a bit snotty, but perhaps it was because it was busy at that time. However, I never thought about women with kids, it is a good place to get crafts and such!

It was just a guesstimate for hypothetical purposes... I would not be surprised if the majority of their 60 thousand man army, lives here...

sobering thought, in light of what we have seen this past week... and this is just the resolution to go to war with Iraq...

We need to raise our vigilance and steel our nerves... evil is waxing worse and worse.

You're right about our knowing more of what's going on. We know instantly about catastrophes anywhere in the world. We can even watch it as it happens.

This knowledge serves to make us extremely insecure because it highlights our vulnerability. Seriously, if I weren't a man of faith, I'd buy a cabin in the mountains and stockpile food and guns.

This is the information age. But it is also the age of anxiety. The two go hand-in-hand.

Jeez,oh pete. I can't believe someone could take that picture, let alone send it out on the net. And here I thought it was her sweater. I'm more than amazed, I'm outraged.

I would like to think that this terror would start the trend to replace PC with common sense but short of nukeing DC or LA, I doubt it.

I was curious about it, so I went to google to search on it and indeed found the information about the gangs. Thanks for clearing that up!

Shows how much I know about gangs, which is very little! I do know about the Crips and Bloods, and that Anchorage, Alaska has Somoan gangs of all things.

While there is some element of truth to the fact someone always feel the "end" is coming and that the era they inhabit is full of evil, I have to say some things HAVE CHANGED.

While government and religious hierarchies were responsible for much evil in man's early history(and still do, I suppose) there is a more personal evil that exists now that simply did not in 3000 BC.

Serial killers are a relatively modern development, with Jack the Ripper ushering in the age of the psychopath(they've always existed, but probably were lords or generals when they slaughtered the innocent) The circumstances behind the killings seem to be more senseless than before, while civil society is probably less cruel than ever.

Were 10 year old boys killing 2 year olds or beating men to death 300 years ago? While there have probably always been an exception or two in a given era, there is a different kind of evil that is on the rise. With the development of technology and bureaucracy, governments are now more murderous than ever before, and there is much potential for the enslavement of BILLIONS, not thousands or even millions..

So, this is not "the end time" but SOME things are getting worse. What could that Assyrian have been talking about with regard to disobeying parents? A kid not wanting to be a farmer and instead going to the city to be a mason?! lol
