Good morning, Tonkin--Thanks so much for the flowers, each and every day. They are very appreciated!

Good morning everyone! Every morning this week has been gray and foggy, it's difficult to get started when it's like that. The weather report says that Thursday a cool front will move in. That should clear out the fog and humidity and herald the arrival of "fall", Florida style! (That means 80 degrees instead of 90, for my Northern friends! LOL!) I'm waiting for it to cool off a little so I can weed and plant my fall garden, trade out the summer annuals for fall, and clean out the garage for the church rummage sale.

We're staying busy...Mr. Gator scored two goals last night at his hockey game. They won 5-2. Not bad for a guy who hasn't skated in a year!

Thanks to all the troops, here at home and throughout the world, who sacrifice so much to keep us free! Love, GG

Duct tape zaps warts

This just in from the frontier of modern medical research: Duct tape zaps warts.

Duct tape, the lowly adhesive that has become a pop culture phenomenon, does a better, less painful job of eradicating childhood warts than freezing them with liquid nitrogen. That's according to October's Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.

That may be news in the medical world, but it isn't to the Duct Tape Guys, two Midwesterners who have sung the praises of duct tape in books, calendars and a standup comedy act.
"After nine years of this shtick, it's hard to come up with anything surprising about duct tape," said Duct Tape Guy Tim Nyberg of Roseville.
In fact, they have touted duct-taped wart treatment on their Web site.

In the new study, patients wore duct tape over their warts for six days. They removed the tape and used an abrasive on the spot. The tape was reapplied, and treatment continued for two months or until the wart went away.
The tape irritated the warts, and that apparently caused the immune system to attack them.
Researchers didn't test other kinds of tape, so they can't say whether they would work as well.

They cite one drawback: "the cosmetic impracticality of using duct tape on the face."

Duct tape - the perfect gift. Wonder what to give for Cristmas? Duct tape and WD40. The duct tape is to stop things from moving that are not supposed to move and the WD40 is to make things move that won't move. Just my thought for the day. zip
