Tribute To HEROES
.
While the dogtag is used to provide information on an individual serviceman, I also believe that the chain which holds them represents a connection to all servicemen, no matter where you served, how you served or when you served.
.
The Minuteman in 1776 has a connection to the soldier fighting in Afghanistan today. That connection is every individual who has ever served in the United States Military. Each of us represents a link in the chain that connects that Minuteman of over 200 years ago to the soldier in Afghanistan today. SAMWolf

The great intangible of America's wars beyond logistics, beyond strategy, beyond wonder weapons and Generals, is the spiritual force of its fighting men and women - and that is the force that the USO so serves.

It is like a cottage down a road, a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.Sounds all too good and peaceful to me. Is there a lake there, where we can throw a lure in the water and ketch some fish? Or maybe in the Autumn, a lot of hardwoods, where we can hunt some squirrels or some deer?

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:
Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks two
sizes! Except you are the exception to the rule!
They keep telling us to get in touch with our bodies. Mine isn't all that
communicative but I heard from it the other day after I said, "Body, how'd
you like to go to the six o'clock class in vigorous toning?" Clear as a bell
my body said, "Listen fatty....do it and die."
I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating
too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my
idea of a perfect day.
My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.
The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing. someone else always does.
Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.
Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.

It's wonderful to soar with eagles when there are anti-America turkeys on the ground. Mid Missouri Patriots love, respect and honor our military personnel, past and present, and their families.

The Eagle
The eagle soars and flies in peace
And casts its shadow wide
Across the land, across the seas
Across the far-flung skies
The foolish think the eagle weak
And easy to bring to heel
The Eagle's wings are silken
But its claws are made of steel
The eagle stands for freedom
May we never let it die
And give thanks for all our blessings
As we watch the eagle fly

"This really really works!! I just want to let everyone know that I spent an hour or two yesterday writing to our troops and I already have responses back. They really appreciate the letters. It took me about 5 seconds to do each. Since most of you don't have the gift of babbling that I do, it should take you about 2 seconds.
Um, that's all from here!"

Duct tape zaps warts
Bob von Sternberg
Published Oct 15, 2002
This just in from the frontier of modern medical research: Duct tape zaps warts.
Duct tape, the lowly adhesive that has become a pop culture phenomenon, does a better, less painful job of eradicating childhood warts than freezing them with liquid nitrogen. That's according to October's Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
That may be news in the medical world, but it isn't to the Duct Tape Guys, two Midwesterners who have sung the praises of duct tape in books, calendars and a standup comedy act.
"After nine years of this shtick, it's hard to come up with anything surprising about duct tape," said Duct Tape Guy Tim Nyberg of Roseville.
In fact, they have touted duct-taped wart treatment on their Web site.
In the new study, patients wore duct tape over their warts for six days. They removed the tape and used an abrasive on the spot. The tape was reapplied, and treatment continued for two months or until the wart went away.
The tape irritated the warts, and that apparently caused the immune system to attack them.
Researchers didn't test other kinds of tape, so they can't say whether they would work as well.
They cite one drawback: "the cosmetic impracticality of using duct tape on the face."

Air Power
LOCKHEED F-94C "STARFIRE"
The F-94 series all-weather interceptors were developed from the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star. The prototype F-94 first flew on July 1, 1949. The Starfire was subsequently produced in the -A, -B, and -C series. The F-94C (originally designated the F-97A) was a fundamental redesign of the F-94B and made its first flight on January 18, 1950.
Improvements in the F-94C included a higher thrust engine, single point refueling, a redesigned wing, a sweptback horizontal stabilizer, upgraded fire-control and navigation systems and, later, mid-wing rocket pods. Twenty-four rockets were carried in the nose in a ring around the radome, shielded by retractable doors, with an additional 24 in the wing pods, if installed. The F-94C carried no guns. Starfires were employed in the air defense of the Continental U.S. in the 1950s. In the F-94A form, they served as the first all-jet all-weather interceptor for the Air Defense Command. The last F-94Cs were withdrawn from USAF service in 1959.

Hello Snow Bunny
Today is the last day of my vacation.
I sure have spent a lot of time here during the past week.
Have I told you lately that I think that you have a great site?
Well you do, and I thank you for it.
I probably will not be able to read each and every post as I have done lately. I am glad however that you and everyone else are here celebrating our Volunteers and each other.
It feels like a good thing when I recognize that we all have things at stake. We all have an investment in our Nation and in our families, friends, and neighbors. We all can count on each other to try and make this World a better place.
This little Canteen is the coolest thing and it does make a difference!
Thanks again!
I think that I shall go walk the dog and finish up a few of my home projects.

Good evening everyone! I hope y'all are enjoying this Tuesday soaring with the Eagles. They are such magnificent birds. I've only been fortunate enough to get close to one once in my life but the thrill will never be forgotten. What a perfect choice for a National emblem.
Hello to all our troops, veterans, and allies! Thank You! for all you do, or have done, for this country we call home. We remain free because of your efforts.
