Peggy Noonan's "The Mad Boomer!!"

"The [HildaBeast's] entire campaign will be animated by the central insight she has derived in the years since 1991: Voters can be fooled, and mesmerized by repetition. A word here on the strange way they learned. Twenty years ago Ronald Reagan used words and events to communicate truths: America is good; democracy is the best form of government; the government should be our servant and not our master; the Cold War can be won. Hillary's generation of liberal political operatives watched, learned and added a variation: They would use words and images not to reveal but to obscure, not to clarify but to confuse. They would mislead their way to power."

John J. Miller's "Eyes on the Senate!!"

"If the elections were held today and all the latest polls were accurate (as tracked by that indispensable political cheat sheet, The Hotline), only four races would be too close to call: Colorado, New Hampshire, South Dakota, and Texas. The other contests would result in 50 Democrat senators (including "independent" Jim Jeffords of Vermont) and 46 Republican senators. The GOP would need to carry each of the nail-biters to reach parity in the chamber, which would allow Vice President Cheney to break 50-50 ties — beginning with the crucial vote for majority leader. And that assumes Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R., R.I.) doesn't pull a Jeffords and quit the GOP."

I like Mr. Miller and respect his expertise, but I'm sticking with my prediction that the GOP will end up with 53 or 54 Senate seats after 5 November...let's get our butts moving and make it a reality!!
