NBC 5 Exclusive: Voter's Poll Part II Although the margin has narrowed slightly, Rick Perry continues to enjoy a comfortable lead in his race against Tony Sanchez, Jr., according to our poll of 600 likely voters throughout Texas.

Also, nearly half of those polled said they think both campaigns are using "unfair" campaign ads.

The poll was conducted from October 8 through October 13 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percent.

I am still waiting for Sanchez and Kirk to release their ads showing Perry and Cornyn in KKK hoods and sheets. They did it with the President practicaly accusing him of driving the truck that dragged that poor fellow to his death, why not try it again with two lessor knowns. The Rats are desperate!

I'd like for Kirk to come out in favor of nationwide gun registration.

Even leftist Ann Richards did everything she could to come across as a pistol packin momma in Texas. Of course, what killed her re-election bid was her pocket veto of concealed carry. As far as voter fraud goes, I wouldn't look for it in Texas if these polls are accurate. Rats only pull voter fraud if (1) the office is important for balance of power reasons, and (2) if the race is within the "fraudability" limits, usually 5% or less. There's only so many precincts that are open to that kind of fraud, and Philly is the only area I heard of in 2000 where they had the guts to have 100%+ voter turnout. Minnesota, S. Dakota, Florida and Missouri are going to be the voter fraud capitals of this election.

I'm a little perplexed at the numbers tightening up in both of these races....

It does seem odd, especially since Kirk in particular has been doing his best to alienate your average thinkin' Texan. Something smells, or it could be just lazy polling. Another thought; they've started factoring in the "to be resurrected" voters. Still in all, fairly comfortable leads for Perry and Cornyn, no?

Yep. Especially strange to me is that both Sanchez and Kirk (especially Kirk) seem to have stumbled since the last poll, and yet they gain ground? Anyway....

Absolutely.....

Thanks. That must be the one the Dallas Morning News is using. They keep referring to the Cornyn-Kirk race as a dead heat.....

Wishful thinking on their part, imho....

ah yes, if Kirk accuses a man as mild-mannered as Cornyn of being a racist, it would backfire bigtime. The whole Kirk strategy has been to present him as the black candidate to minority voters and the Lloyd Bentsen retread to the rest of Texas. It is laughable but our local Austin unamerican statesman, a Liberal rag, is doing their best at unpaid campaign contribution by printing stories to advance this train of thought.

Ron Kirk is a Liberal running as a moderate. Cornyn is a consevative but running a low-key campaign. much at stake here.
