Nope, Most all of our weather forecasting is done with thermal imaging from satellites. We have lots of satellites out in space, Not to mention EP-3's, AWAC's and many other ways to monitor the planet

Uh, I guess what I am trying to say, is that a satellite would have to be over an undergound test site to detect a nuclear test. Oh, and I don't think we are flying AWAC's or EP-3s over the North Korea territory, hehehe.......

The satellites do not have to be directly over head, nor do they have to any where near N. Korea. The sizemoligy equipment we have all over the world can detect even a minor earthquake from very long distances. We have all kinds of highly sophistacated equipment in South Korea that can easily detect any kind of ground tremors.

I would love to sit here a give you an idiot lesson about how sensitive our atmospheric monortoring satellites are and their ability to detect even the slightest change in temperature along with pinpointing the source, But I will let you do your own research. For that mnatter, just turn on the weather channel,
