Look at it this way. The environment is the base means of production. Communism is in actuality gubment control of all means of production. Therefore gubment control of the environment is essentially communism. Hnece the term (coined by headsonpikes I believe) "WATERMELON". Green on the outside (enviralist) and red on the inside (communist).

Green on the outside (enviralist) and red on the inside (communist).I've heard it was Franz Joseph Strauss (a German politician) who coined the phrase to describe the first Green Party, in Germany. Not only did those Greens want government control of the productive sector "in the name of the planet", they were also against taking any steps to defend West Germany against their more committed socialist brethren.
