I'd accept Marshall law. As in, getting Matt Dillon to form up a huge-assed posse full of us trigger-happy, kick-them-ragheads-outta-here types to go down to MD/VA and clean up the situation.
That won't happen, though. It'll be a drawn out affair with a few more deaths. No clear cut strategy and no final closure.
Not until we finally get rid of the politically correct infestation and put the fear of God and John Wayne into these low-lifes.
