There's a good chance that he was going to lose the car anyway to repossesion. Sounds like this guy doesn't honor his obligations.

I'm sure that many other divorced women will support your position. But I don't think there's any point to your doing it here.

Two reasons I can think of:

1. He was trying to get an insurance payment with which to pay his debts (although he'd never get insurance money from such a public display).

2. He knew that SHE liked the car...
