A Polish airlines plane was on a flight from Warsaw to Krakow. An engine on the left wing developed a problem and konked out. The pilot asked all available passengers to move to the other side of the cabin to help stabilize the plane. However, it seemed to have the opposite effect; the plane went into a spin and crashed.
Later, the accident investigation was having trouble determining the cause, until somebody had the inspiration:
Too many Poles in the right-half plane.
