How did the Chevy Vega avoid the list? I swear that car body was made out of compacted rust.

The Chevrolet Vega was Chevies answer to the Ford Pinto. I bought a Vega in 1973 and it started burning oil after 500 miles. We're talking huge blue plumes of smoke.
