The first nation is that of the powerful and privileged left leaning elite in control of the political and cultural high ground. The second nation is made up of mainly average Americans struggling to make ends meet. The wealthy first nation leftists exert their influence through hate, fear, and intimidation. They control the money and the megaphone. The second nation is, on the other hand, made up of generally patriotic and G-d fearing average Americans struggling to defend their turf against incredible odds.
Operating out of powerful bastions conquered long ago, Academia, civil service bureaucracies, the media, foundations, the largest corporations, the entertainment establishment, and other nexuses of wealth and power, the first nation exerts social pressure and ostracism in their recruitment of the young. The velvet glove offers young people social acceptance, being considered as one of the "beautiful people," for genuflecting to the left. Behind the velvet glove, the rarely exposed iron fist threatens all type of deprivations and social ostracism as punishment for failure to comply. Most young people, their opinions and outlook on life not yet fully formed, naturally opt for the promises of the former.
The first nation religious creed is atheistic/naturalistic evolution. The aborting of the human fetus is viewed as a high ritual in the practice of the faith. Evolution, an article of faith presented as "science," is a belief in a closed universe, which is explained as perpetual matter in motion. At the center of this creed is the soul-less human being who is regarded as nothing more than an evolved animal and, as a religious ideal, held in no higher regard than any other living thing. The future evolution of man can be effected, they reason, by the forceful apparatus of government controlled by, you guessed it; these enlightened first nation elites acting, they believe, in the benevolent interest of their less enlightened and inferior neighbor. The right of Abortion is the starting point toward an outright control of human life which is why they cling to it so fanatically and seek to expand its definition.
The second nation still retains vestiges of understanding regarding the nature of freedom and morality with the realization that man is "endowed by the creator" to quote the Declaration of Independence, rather than by other men. Inherent in that understanding is a perception that human life is unique and exists to serve a higher purpose. There is an understanding that an individual covenant with the creator, who has revealed himself to man, involves moral responsibility.
The second nation views government as local, representative, constrained by a limited constitution, and representative of the people. The first nation gravitates toward appointed government and seeks to exercise power through bureaucracies and an autocratic Judiciary. While the second nation honors individual, state and national sovereignty, with an understanding of the role each plays in the preservation of G-d given rights, the first nation is feverishly striving toward a totalitarian one world socialist government created in its own image.
Examples of the two nations abound. The first nation seeks the disarmament of individual citizens, a policy practiced by their soul mates in Nazi Germany and Communist countries with the inevitable result. The second nation understands the right to keep and bear arms as a natural aspect of freedom and a means of maintaining the system of checks and balances.
The first nation believes in polymorphous perversity, or totally free sexuality where sexual expression is encouraged anywhere, with anyone and at any time, un-constrained by such outmoded bourgeois ideas and prejudices as heterosexual monogamous marriage. Dissenters to this view are viewed as "repressed." The second nation believes in the sacred vows of marriage and in protecting young people from sexually explicit matters.
The first nation believes that environmentalism means neo-pagan earth worship and in the setting aside of vast tracts of "pristine" land which they define as land untouched by man. The second nation understands the Biblical call for man to exercise responsible stewardship over the earth and its resources, harnessing them for his own advancement and exercising sensible and humane control over nature. There are enough examples of the two nations to fill ten volumes in an encyclopedia so I'll leave it there for now.
