Sorry,I don't find that type of reply hmorous.We got ten people dead,3 wounded,a possible terrorist situation and a chief that,even if over his head, is doing his best to cope with the situation.IMO he is only a mouthpiece,told what to say by the feds and instructed what not to say.So what if he sounds like millions of other Americans.

I don't get the impression that most here "don't like Moose" or that they think he is incompetent.
The man does have some funny speech patterns reminiscent of "The Lady's Man", and we're all frustrated by these repeated "news conferences" in which nothing is said.

I am going to start taking the names of so-called LE experts on US/World TV and in the press that completely dance away from a mention of Alpha Tango terrorism here, and particularly the ones who outright dismiss it.

I agreed with you for the most part until this part. Nobody drafted him to become Chief of Police. He chose it, and therefore did ask for the responsibility and publicity. I'm not so bothered by it when there's no other news to report, as is the case right now before the press conference. It helps defuse tension. Sometimes it crosses the line, of course.
