too funny. don't people report stolen ccs anymore? bizarro. just imagine the ramifications of what could have been prevented had the card been reported. they might have been busted knocking off another petty cash operation.

Well not if you're dead. Perhaps he lived by himself, or his family didn't know to cancel credit cards, didn't know they were stolen, etc.

The card being left useable was probably an intentional tactic by the police- it was the best lead regarding the robbery/homicide. Te credit card companies don't usually care if it'll help solve a major caper!

My husband said he heard they took the card off a murder victim, who probably wasn't in any shape to report it stolen or missing.
