Native American of Hispanic extraction? Sounds like a Mexican Indian.

I can understand people disliking the confusion-factor of "Indian," but I hate that "Native American" term. Its confusion-factor is far larger than "Indian." I'm a Native American, but I'm not of Precolumbian descent.

The Indian reservations in Western Washington accept Mexicans of Native extraction as tribal members because the more people they have living on the res, the more federal money they get.
