Question: Does Hutchison (Ark) DESERVE reelection, after dumping his wife for a young babe?
National Review Online ^ | Oct. 24, 02 | churchillbuff

According to John Miller on today's www.nationalreview.com Hutchison is behind - - and if he loses it's his own fault because he divorced his wife to marry a young aide, and it isn't going over well with constituents.

I also think it's tacky and the kind of selfish anti-family behavior that's undermining our culture and society. Hutchison set a bad example for fathers and husbands at a time when we need the "Promise Keepers" philosophy to be more widely practiced.

I think he does deserve to lose. Hate to say it, because we need a Republican Senate.

From NRO: ARKANSAS
The Matchup: Sen. Tim Hutchinson (R.) vs. attorney general Mark Pryor (D.)
Latest Poll: Pryor leading, 48 percent to 43 percent, by Opinion Research
The Line: If Hutchinson hadn't divorced his wife to marry a young staffer, he'd be running away with this race. It's no coincidence that Pryor's latest ad begins with these words: "Loving husband. Caring father." Hutchinson couldn't do the same thing with a straight face. Hutchinson may well lose, and he'll have nobody but himself to blame. If Tom Daschle remains majority leader by a single vote, Republicans all over the country will have him to blame as well.

Maybe Arkansans like to have politicians who break their marital vows. Their choice.

Bet you dollars to donuts that this young babe will dump his cheating ass when he's booted out of office and his career is ruined.

Not knowing ANYTHING about the situation, and having just gone through a very sad (for me) "departure of the ways", who do we think we are?

Perhaps SHE was the one who desecrated the vows, HMMM?

Maybe the staffer was the only friend he had, for YEARS?

If he dumped his loving spouse, he deserves to lose everything he has ever had. If SHE is the cause of the troubles, why should HE be the one to suffer from her cupidity?

I say he will back the President, and this is a personal thing.....and he has to live with what happened....I am selfish, I want the best for America and that means a GOP senate.....that has to come first

I agree that Hutchinson should not be re-elected. Too bad both Hutchinson and Pryor can't lose.

Amen. That any Arkansan would "cast the first stone" on a guy who gets a divorce, after inflicting Bill Clinton on us for eight agonizingly long years, is ridiculous. Arkansas owes the rest of us, big time! There is such a thing as a sense of proportion, inflicting a Democrat Senate on the country is too steep a price to pay so that someone can wag their finger in Hutchison's face.

Man, I agree! I hate what he did as much as anybody, but wishing a Democrat Senate on America because my principles were stepped on is just tooooo steep.

GO HUTCH!

He has bad timimg, he really should've waited till the elections are over to do this, actually, he shouldn't have been messing around at all. I found out my wife was messin around, I never let her know that I knew, I got alot of evidence(pictures) of them together, then I went and got me a younger babe, a 22 year old college grad Puerto Rican beauty.I set it up so she would "catch us" and when she did, i showed her the pictures of her and her man. I'm not tryin to brag, but maybe things were going on that no one knows, that's why I said he should've waited till the elections were over, hell maybe his wife was a cheatin first.

Well ... I have a problem with your theory.

How do you know what his wife was like. Maybe she was awful to live with. Probably no one will ever really know what went on except the man and his wife.

But ... to condemn him just because he divorced his wife is a little severe. Of course, I'm for being married; I'm for not fooling around if you're married; and I'm for planning to stay married and doing everything possible to keep the marriage healthy. Some people allow a marriage to be destroyed simply because they don't tend to it.

Having been divorced, I guess I have a different view.

I could not have said it better myself. I think what he did was despicable but I would still rather see the GOP take control of the Senate instead of leaving it in the hands of baby-killing, gay marriage / lifestyle proponent Dim-o-rats. I do have one question however: If two people in Arkansas get a divorce, are they still cousins?
