The corpse can't run. The election code is clear about that. The Democrats can't take the chance that the law would be enforced, so they HAVE to name someone, and Wellstone's name will have a magic marker drawn through it on the ballots.
In fact, the entire slate of Senate candidates will be printed on a supplemental ballot.

Not only do they have to replace him if they hope to have a chance, the law also says that absentee ballots will not be reprinted, and any absentee ballots cast for Wellstone, will be counted for Wellstone, not for the new candidate!

I heard that on Fox! I don't think it's fair, but I can't think of a "fair" way to replace a candidate four days before an election. It basically gives a pretty big boost to Coleman and blunts one of the Dems biggest election fraud weapons.

Won't work - I've been to Minnesota, and can attest that magic markers freeze into an unworkable state the day after July 4...
