Maybe it takes a while to get a meaningful conversation going. FR wasn't built in response to a single day.

I'm one of the hundreds of millions, nay, billions of people who've never heard of his website.

And now that I have, I still don't care about it. Perhaps that's a factor in his disappointment?

Hope he didn't mortage his house for it.

It's almost impossible to get publicity for web sites. I've never heard of his, either, but I'll check it out now.

Notice how AP highlights this, trying to make the case that most Americans are against war with Iraq? The Orlando Slantinel did the same thing today, with a full page puff "peace" on the antiwar "movement".

I'm writing them to comment on it.

As of Oct. 23, the number of visitors to the site was just under 2,700.

Somehow, I think that may change.....

As of Oct. 23, the number of visitors to the site was just under 2,700.

As of right now, October 26, the number of visitors stand at exactly 2,878. I suspect Free Republic will easily double that over the next day or so.

One mistake you can't make is to adopt the "Build it and they will come" mentality. You must actively promote your site, and publishing its existence on other conservative sites like FR is a good way to do that.

A web site that doesn't attract visitors--- there are millions. Mr. Haskell finds an unpopular Patriotic website to imply that patriotism is passe.

How about featuring a patriotic web site that is The Stickiest Web Site in The World. Now that's a story!

Lets not hold our breath.
