No government can truly keeps its citizens safe. Each and every person must learn to take responsibilty for his or her self with the government only being able to defend a Nation's borders. Of course, the liberals don't want this mind-set to take root again because then people will realize that they should own guns and be personally responsible instead of looking to the nanny-state to take care of their every want and need.

Of course, the nature of a sniper is that he ties up a surprisingly large body of "hostiles" ....as seems to have been the case with these two wannabees. Unfortunately, the "hostiles" were just plain folks, trying to get through the day, like the rest of us.

We don't need total security and anyone who thinks he has to have it ought not to get out of bed in the morning. I don't know what the actual statistics are but I bet that nearly as many people choke to death on cordogs each year as died during the two weeks the snipers were at large. Yet no one posts tremulous messages saying that cordogs are a threat to the American way of life.
