Oh, now THAT is creepy. DC police filming? Hmm ...
Perhaps they were filming just in case something awful happened, so that they could catch the bad guys later? Were they filming everyone, or just our little group? The Park Police were wonderful, and the DC police I spoke with were, also.
Argh. Most disconcerting. :o(

They seemed to be filming mostly the intersection of Constitution and 17th, so that would be where the leftists turn and go by our rally site. So I think it's the former. They didn't have their cameras directed at us.
The police I'm pretty sure don't make a hobby of glaring at our photos. But if you're asking me whether, say, the Park Police take a few photos of the group so that if something happens later they have visual images -- well, sure, I bet they do that. Personally, I don't think that's creepy. Given the left's previous violence at these rallies, I think that's solid police work. It's not like they go into some international database: they just have them so that if later in the day, they need them, they got them. I don't know this for sure but I figure as much.
My theory is: they can take photos of my pretty mug all day long, 'cause I ain't doing anything wrong, so that's only going to be useful to them if God forbid I'm a victim of some leftist sign-beating or something!
