MARION, Ala. - Dr. Timothy Wheeler is a man of science and precision. He is trained to save lives, but in his free time he uses his keen eye and nimble fingers to do other things.

''I vote. I pay taxes. And I go to the target practice and fire a .223-caliber rifle,'' said Wheeler.

Diaz said his organization is not criticizing military snipers or even schools that only teach military and law enforcement sniper techniques, but he insists too many people are teaching dangerous lessons to regular people.

And in response my organization is not criticizing lobbyists or even the media that only teach liberal arguments and techniques, but we insist too many people are pushing subversive unamerican ideas on regular people.

Caste system alert: "regular people" = peasants, police, military and government officials = Lords.

Proving once again that the editorial page in most mainstream newspapers has moved from A26 to A1.

Sniper attacks bring scrutiny to pursuit of marksmanship

The guy wasn't even that exceptional of a marksman, according to the Army. But the gun-grabbers, true to form, are going to use the actions of a couple of deranged individuals to try and deprive law-abiding citizens of their rights. It wasn't a sniper culture that led to these deaths. It was hatred of America, pure and simple. In that regard, the VPC is more in line with the DC murders than the guy shooting at the range on the weekend.

''This is clearly a hot trend and, yes, there is a subculture out there,'' said Diaz. ''Somebody is buying all these books, videos, and going to these schools. They are not Martians. They are human beings from this country and perhaps from some other places, too.''

That is the clumsiest attempt I have ever seen to equate law-abiding Americans with foriegn-born terrorist killers. It reeks of VPC agitprop.

''The same techniques a sniper uses, a hunter uses,'' Ryan said.

As gunners have been saying for years - they want ALL of our guns, including the hunting rifles. Now the gun control nuts are just so desperate they are saying that too, in public.

''This is clearly a hot trend and, yes, there is a subculture out there"

The only subculture we have to be concerned about is called Militant Islam. Of course the left-wing extremists who dictate policy at the Boston GLOB won't say that. They're still determined to pin the blame on some white redneck.

They have lost. Their arguments are an albatross around the neck of any politician who espouses them.

"but he insists too many people are teaching dangerous lessons to regular people."

Diaz is a fool and a liar. He can't be that stupid, so "liar" is the only epithet that fits. This guy has such a contempt for his fellow citizens, a trait which he shares with the rest of his leftist bedfellows, that only another commie moron could take him seriously (like maybe, half the current US Senate?)

Woe unto the nation if these guys ever gain total political control of the US. However, I don't think the outcome would be exactly as he envisions.

Incidentally, I wonder why no one is calling for the end of pilot training schools; after all, the bastards who committed the largest mass murder in the history of the US got their training at private flight schools......

''Look, you can't be in this business without understanding that our product in the hands of a heinous criminal can do bad things,'' Dyke said.

Just as a "GINSU KNIFE" did to Nicole Simpson at the hands of the HEINOUS OJ What a stupid f@#king article....unfortunately libs will take to heart, when will they learn that guns, knives, rocks or sticks only kill when brought to life by a human

Note to Idiot Diaz:

"The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) promotes firearms safety training and rifle practice for all qualified U.S. citizens with special emphasis on youth."

"The CMP operates through a network of affiliated shooting clubs and associations that covers every state in the U.S. The clubs and associations offer firearms safety training and marksmanship courses as well as the opportunity for continued practice and competition."

"The CMP was created by the U.S. Congress. The original purpose was to provide civilians an opportunity to learn and practice marksmanship skills so they would be skilled marksmen if later called on to serve the U.S. military."

"Over the years the emphasis of the program shifted to focus on youth development through marksmanship."

"From 1916 until 1996 the CMP was administered by the U.S. Army. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (TITLE XVI) created the Corporation for the Promotion of Rifle Practice & Firearms Safety, Inc. (CPRPFS) to take over administration and promotion of the CMP. The CPRPFS is a tax exempt not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that derives its mission from public law."

So, put that in your crack pipe and smoke it, Mr. Liberal-Lying-Moron-Diaz

Just like the Medieval days where there were two sets of laws and carrying a sword (a privelege reserved for the ruling class) could land a lowly peasant in the stocks.

How is shooting a rather large target( a person) at 100 - 150 yards at most, considered sharpshooting? Anyone with any knowledge of the .223 load realizes that a monkey could hit a target at that distance, if you aimed it in the general direction.

This is not a great feat of markmanship.

Note the the CMP was put under private stewardship during the Clinton Administration.

This Diaz is a piece of crap. The true motives, however, of these gun-grabbers is right in plain view: They intend on disarming not only the citzenry at large, but eventually, the police and military as well.

Bulls Eye Shooter's Supply is screwed. It seems they can't produce a 4473 for this gun. Anyone know anything about this shop?

News from the National Matches USAR's Henderson Dominates Pistol

Sergeant James Henderson, a U. S. Army Reservist from Festus, Missouri became the first shooter in the history of the 99 year history of the National Trophy Matches to win pistol shooting's Triple Crown.

Henderson won all three major championship trophies in the National Trophy Pistol Matches that took place at Camp Perry, Ohio on July 14, 2002.

The U. S. Congress established the National Trophy Matches in 1903. The pistol phase of the matches includes three events that must be fired with service pistols, either the M1911 .45 cal. or M9/92 Beretta 9 mm pistol.

The pistols can be fitted with adjustable sights and may have internal accurizing, but otherwise they must retain the original service pistol configuration.

National Trophy Pistol events are the President's Match, the National Trophy Individual Match and the National Trophy Team Match.

Sgt. Henderson started his sweep of these matches with a convincing victory in the Pistol President's Match. His 383-17X score placed him at the top of the 2002President's 100 list.

Awards include the coveted President's Match Trophy, a presentation M1 Garand Rifle and a letter of congratulations from the President of the United States.

President Theodore Roosevelt started this tradition in 1904.

Diaz is a true moron; he thinks he can destroy a 100 year-history of marksmanship in the US because he doesn't like the idea that millions of his fellow countrymen can and do shoot regularly, and that tens of millions more have more than a passing familiarity with firearms. To Diaz, I say, "Good luck, schmuck."

Sure. A single-shot, fully automatic, bolt action, 12-gauge, high-powered, .223 calibre, sawed-off, sniper's machine gun.

They got 'em.

Ask the Globe.

The VPC is, without question, a den of liars, fools and potential despots. But I'm amazed, no, in awe, of their ability to get their propaganda reported in the media every single time they try.

Whether it's banning 'saturday night specials', .50BMG rifles, ballistic fingerprinting, you name it, they write the talking points for the Democrat pols. and the media.

Seriously, how do they do this with such consistency?

The answer is that the main stream press is staffed by communists; they want to disarm the citizenry so they can realize their larger agenda: to destroy the Republic and institute total socialism/communism.
