Some early morning insomnia. Cut on Fox News and watched some of David Wellstone's "eulogy".
I lost my father suddenly in my 20's. I have also lost my mother after a long illness one year later. Dave Wellstone was one cool customer for someone who had lost their Dad, Mom & Sister in one fell swoop. I thought of the grief of losing my parents and add to that the thought of losing my sister. My guts were ripped out.
I could not continue to watch it. It was a political rally plain & simple. They didn't want Cheney there - who as president of the Senate would properly have been there - because he would actually lent some dignity to the event. Can you imagine? A sitting US Senator's life is cut short and people act like this.
