Very, very slow. Timing out on my system. Unusable. Took me three attempts to reply to your post.

I dropped a letter in the mail to them about it. Figure that will get there faster than a message through the site.

I'm sure the Robinsons are working working to get the problem(s) fixed. But it sure you be nice if they would post a little info as to what is happening, what the problems(s) are, and how and when they may can be fixed. It would surely help the flustration level of the forum participants. Just my opinion of course.

Ah-HA!! So it's not just me and my fancy new laptop (Fujitsu 2111 C-series "Lifebook") or my cousins molasses slow dialup line. (Boy do I miss my old cable modem ISP)

Is this a leftwind (whoops, typo), I mean leftwing (hard leftwing, "extreme leftwing") denial of service hack attack? They hate us you know. (Is there anybody that they really like? Besides the Clinton's)

Is anybody else out there depressed about the current political climate of hate and denial of reality from the left wing and other world citizens or is it just me. Why do so many people in this country hate their own country and civilization?

Is FR under DoS attack? The problem with slow access has been there for several days. It starts around 11:00 AM EST and goes away around mid-afternoon. I am suspicious that there are sinister things going on. Drudge doesn't seem to have any problems.

Lucky you. My slow access/unable to open msgs/multiple posts/ problem is continuous. No let up of the slowdown.

It's the same problem I was having trying to get into Drudge's site several weeks ago...ran a trace route and discovered that the packets were being bottled up in a "cogent peer testing" site. I ran a trace route and the trouble seems to start at the 128.242.105.82 router..the last hop befor entering the freerepublic site (150 ms's before hopping to free republic.

OH Yes, It's taken over 4 minutes to make this post. Let alone accessing the web site. That was another 2-3 minutes.When I access late at night 1-2am it is somewhat better. I hope FR hasn't outgrown itself.

I've noticed that too - and during the day I access via a T1; there's no reason that it should be this slow. At night come in via Cable, and I don't have anywhere near this kind of problem.
