She will keep looking at how much Gore carried the district even as redrawn, and hope for the best. She is still the favorite. Not too many Gore voters are going to change their vote to the GOP, absent compelling circumstances. The GOP is riding high in House races, because in most places, they don't need Gore votes to win (outside the Northeast in a few places, and there the Gore totals were bloated), and where they do, they have very strong incumbents.

Just a note: There has yet to be an election in the newly drawn districts, a process widely acknowledged to have been screwed up by Mahern.
