I have been posting that I am finding these rats frightening and I mean it. This is pretty much how I feel. The hatred coming from the RAT party leaders is so venomous that I am afraid for the lives of some of the Pubbie leaders. The Clinton/Gore/Carter/Dashole/Gephardt bunch suggesting that Bush is not elected as President,That Ashcroft is a terrible Hitler who will take away their rights. That Pubbies are against old people and want to send Blacks back to the plantation and take away their right to vote. This kind of rhetoric is reckless and irresponsible behavior from what are supposed to grown up intelligent elected officials. This kind of lie is dangerous, and the young Wellstone boy in a frenzy of emotion screaming out in a wild voice, "We will win, we will win, we will win!" while waving his fist in the air to cheers was scary to me.

That 'rat sprout you mention is a good demonstration that there *is* still more than "a dimes worth of difference between the two parties." Republicans as a group will not behave that shamelessly. It's a good thing their misbehavior got so much coverage.

Good post, ladyinred. That's exactly how I felt watching that appalling spectacle the other night. Rick Kahn's speech was particularly chilling, in addition to the end of Mark Wellstone's. I wish I had Kahn's speech on tape... I still can't believe what I heard.
I've posted several times on FR that this modern-day DemocRATic party is the party of gangsters. After Wellstone's "memorial service" (and the memory of the oh-so-tolerant DemocRATs booing innocent Boy Scouts who appeared at the 2000 DemocRATic Convention), I now label the DemocRATic party: The Party of Hate.

I don't know how most of you feel about "Evil" (with a capital E)whether you believe in ultimate evil or not, but I do and I have a healthy respect for it.
When those people were screaming at that "memorial service", screaming and laughing, and stomping their feet, and raising their fists, I could almost feel Evil transforming. It was if it were congealing from a slightly perceptable mist into something more solid.
Anyway, I saw Evil at that rally.
