Earlier this week Noonan was singing Wellstone's praises. Are we to believe that his surviving children, friends and party comrades are soulless and ruthless, but he alone wasn't?

Jack Kennedy was here, and you're not going to like this, but he said what he said the day Nixon had his meltdown in '62. He looked at you and said, "No class." Fiction, but a good read otherwise.

The Dems gave death a bad name.

In this case, it's wishing your opponents would act worthy of your respect so that you could respect them.

Peggy Noonan's writing is always worth reading but it is really brilliant when she writes of worthy people. This article, although creative, doesn't ring true.

Memo to Peggy: The Democrats hate you and wish you had been killed on 9-11 with Barbara Olson.

Chris--thought you might enjoy this. IMHO Peggy's strength is her gentleness with words. Proud to have her on our side.

I like Peggy Noonan, but she can really be a cornball. This reminds me of the imaginary livingroom gathering with Hillary Clinton in one of her books.
That said, I guess she makes some good points here. I just don't like this writing style. (And I wouldn't presume Paul Wellstone is in heaven right now. Maybe he is - but it seems like an odd premise, for some reason.)

This article, although creative, doesn't ring true. It's not one of her best, IMHO, because she's being coy about what we all know was a very serious and dangerous mis-step on the part of the opposition.
That campaign commercial that they put on was like a spotlight on something we weren't supposed to see.
Terry McAuliffe and the sops in his wing of the liberal party accidental left the baby monitor on when they went into the other room during the dinner party and were heard disparaging the guests...
The problem that I have with all the punditry on this subject is that no one has been able to come right out and put the truth on what happened.
Everyone knows what happened, no one can deny it, but everyone is too shocked by it to speak clearly about it.
For once, there are no words to describe the depth to which the ClintonMcAuliffe party has sunk.

Peggy ---
It's a strong message, thought-provoking, and would certainly provoke much soul-searching IF the target audience actually had souls...
Conscience? Morality? Shame? Honor?
You wasted your time.

Of course, she is a writer, not the Judge of the living and the dead, as aren't you or I. She makes many good points for everyone to ponder over. Her use of the image of Paul's casket as a political podium was well crafted. To ideologue Democrats, the Democratic Party is their religion, and the highest arbiter of right and wrong.

P.S.: You might want to seriously reconsider your position on abortion. MAN, I could use some ice water!

Very nice article, Peggy. Not realistic through, to say that the likes of the late Senator, being defender of killing babies in the most horrific manner, would be "up" in heaven. We all know that such unrepentent characters end up in a tormenting place. Anyhow, would be nice to believe some democrats would read and reflect - if only.

Do you think JFK is in heaven? I have been to heaven, and honestly such considerations never even cross my mind.
