SACRAMENTO(AP) - The interim director of the Gov.'s Office of Criminal Justice Planning announced his resignation Friday after he was linked to an investigation of alleged corruption in San Joaquin County.
N. Allen Sawyer, the interim director since March and chief deputy director since March 1999, was a partner in a failed Port of Stockton power plant deal with San Joaquin County Sheriff Baxter Dunn and a former sheriff's deputy and water board member, according to an FBI affidavit.

Not anymore nuts than the rest of America that kept Clinton for eight yrs. or the Senate Republicans that protected him.
It looks like the same kinda thing they busted Quackenbush and George Grays for doin. Settin up a phony corporation for divertin funds/grants of taxpayers money into linin their own pockets, or at least empowerin them selves in certain ways.
I'm talkin (typin) like Willie Brown deliberately for a reason!!! (Willie did the same thing with the Air Resources Board on a similar deal and nobody was able to make the allegations stick)

LOOK AT THE UP-DATE IN TODAY'S SACRAMENTO BEE! CALPINE IS INVOLVED, BIG TIME!!!
I know the consultant for CalPine, personally!!! Davis' appointee to San Juaqin's Board of Supervisors tried to screw calpine, so now the whole thing is COMING OUT!!! (and blowing up!) I think CalPine's skirts are pretty clean on this, since their people did the right thing to inform the FBI.
Notice how hard Davis is running from it!
