Journalists, as Academics & politicians, have their own sub-cultures. They associate to a large degree with their own. Thus the value judgment that you describe is predictable.

I agree that it alarming that they are this brazen. But it is no reason to despair. We need to isolate them with their own guidelines, coupled with the illustrations of those guidelines in action, everywhere around us.
