The study also found that students who attend private religious schools do not act much better than those who attend public schools.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but...The state has not been taking away responsibility from parents via government schools. Where do you come up with this? As you can see private religious schools are not fairing much better!

You are sticking your head in the sand by scapegoating public schools for every social ill, the fact is the privately schooled aren't much better! So we need to find other sources of what the problem really is if it isn't schools. Look at these Enron guys, they weren't public schooled, neither were any of the other corporate criminals of late. Fact is they were privately schooled! Could it be they ere raised by people like you who made them think they were smarter and better than everyone else and that gave them the right to cheat those they felt were below them and didn't deserve that money, anyway? And in those guy's eyes, the stockholder's deserved it!

After years of people like you de-humanizing any one who went to a public school, what kind of child will you raise, I'll tell you, a hateful, snobby adult who will think he is better than others and welcome to cheat them because they are just the inhuman products of the government! Some future for America. We need to find the real cause of these problems and fix them, and not just sit here in our arm chairs typing up insults about "government schools".

Maybe these kids have raised themselves because there parents spend half their time glued to a computer screen...think about how different the home environment has been for these kids!

"The state has not been taking away responsibility from parents via government schools. Where do you come up with this? "

Where do I get this from? The State forces me to innoculate my children, even if it is contrary to what we or our doctor recommends. The school (State run) teaches my children about sex and drugs which I feel is innappropriate. This is a family matter, not governments. The school violates their privacy with random searches and detention (one young girl was suspended for having a butter knife in her car, left over from a weekend camping trip). They school suspended a little boy for drawing a picture of a gun, and another for pointing a chicken finger at a friend and saying "bang". The school is teaching my children to be afraid of guns. The school is avoiding responsibility with "zero tolerance" nonsense. I could go on and on.

" As you can see private religious schools are not fairing much better!"

Sorry, I haven't seen any such thing. I don't follow what private schools are doing, they could have just a much problems as homeschools. I wouldn't know. We homeschool.

You are sticking your head in the sand by scapegoating public schools for every social ill, ...

I feel I've pulled my head out of the sand. I've ignored these "social ills" with public schools for way to long.

So we need to find other sources of what the problem really is if it isn't schools. ..."

Sorry, WE, do not have to work together on this. This is not a communist country (yet). Well, I guess the State does force me to give money to pay for your children's public school. But I am not responsible for your children. I have taken care of the problem for my children.

Fact is they were privately schooled! Could it be they ere raised by people like you who made them think they were smarter and better than everyone else and that gave them the right to cheat those they felt were below them and didn't deserve that money, anyway? Now you deserve flaming. Don't blame me for how other people raised their children. My children are taught decency, honesty, respect, and caring for others. They are learing the bible, our history, philosophy, politics and our Constitutional form of government. I hope some day they are future leaders to help resolve this country's problems.

After years of people like you de-humanizing any one who went to a public school, what kind of child will you raise, I'll tell you, a hateful, snobby adult who will think he is better than others and welcome to cheat them because they are just the inhuman products of the government!

I haven't "de-humanized anyone. Where do you get this nonsense?.

We need to find the real cause of these problems and fix them, and not just sit here in our arm chairs typing up insults about "government schools".

As I stated before, I am not responsible to help you fix your problems. I have fixed mine. I am also a staunch believer that government can't fix crap. Government IS the problem! It is obvious we view government from totally different perspectives, and hence we will have little in common to discuss.

Maybe these kids have raised themselves because there parents spend half their time glued to a computer screen...think about how different the home environment has been for these kids!

Sheer speculation in my opinion. By the way, are you insinuating, I spend my time in front of the computer and ignore my children??? You are a very insulting person. YDon't expect to get much help from people by insulting them.
