Video of rods not the same as insect blurs

The guy in the audio clip claimed 1/10,000 sec. shutter speeds would prove that rods are not insects.

I'm not at all knowledgable of cameras, but is equipment with such high shutter speeds readily available?

1/10,000 sec. shutter speeds are the fastest setting on good digital cameras. Saw one with 1/18,000 sec shutter speed.

Pretty much eliminates blur unless the insect is going Mach 2 or so

if you have serious long-green, then yes.
otherwise, no.
Think "top-of-the-line Ferrari" and you have a reasonable comparison point.
