Hotline: Democrat Bloodbath in the Senate

The Republican Party will likely win several key Senate races not yet called by the networks, according to Hotline editor Craig Crawford.

Reporting for WABC Radio's John Batchelor and Paul Alexander, Crawford described a veritable Democratic Party bloodbath that will include:

Saxby Chambliss beating Max Cleland in Georgia. Jim Talent defeating Jean Carnahan in Missouri. John Thune winning over Tim Johnson in South Dakota.

And in a particularly devastating blow for the Democrats, Norm Coleman will defeat Democratic Party warhorse Walter Mondale in Minnesota.

Biggest winner tonight: GWB

He put it on line for Repubs like no president has since HST... and won big!

Loser? Dashole. He gone from leadership in 3 months.

Our losers, Steve Largent lost Gov of Ok and Tom Cole could not hold on to JC Watts seat in Ok (both not final yet.)

None of this counts until the RAT candidate concedes.

I'm not giving up on Largent yet. 13% of districts haven't reported yet, and there are only 4 percentage points (33,000 votes) between Largent and Henry....it's still possible. Call me an optimist.

Sad day for the Keystone State.

I believe the sources are right on the money. A pickup tonight of 4+ seats in the Senate will be HUGE and I think we will knock off Mary Landrieu in the December runoff in Louisiana, making it 5. We'll have 53 Republicans 46 Democrats and 1 Independent in the next Congress. Woo hoo!!!

*If* this trend holds and we take back the Senate, I hope and pray that (Vacant) Lott remembers just how petty and nasty the demonRATS were when Jeffords gave them the plurality. Time to stop being Mr. Nice Guy and start growing a spine.

Speaking of Big LOOOOOOOSERS of the night, I'd have to nominate Judas Jeffords. May he never see another committee chairmanship again. He took his gamble, and lost in the long run. Assuming the Senate swings back to something resembling sanity, I hope he spends the rest of his days kicking himself in the ass but good!

I don't want to be one of those guys who says, "I told you so," but here is one of my posts on 11/3 which repeats what I said even earlier:

SHOCK POLL: JEB BUSH PULLS A 15 POINT LEAD, SAYS ZOGBY!

I've said this before right here on FR: I see the makings of another '84 election. Have you noticed how all the liberals are subdued and down-in-the-mouth? In '84 they knew two weeks before election day that it was going to be a blowout by the Republicans, but the polls they cited did not show a decisive victory. I wish we could access some of the '84 pre-election new releases. I think this might be a repeat.

Walter Mondale will soon be able to say he lost in every single state.

And surprisingly, it looks like Allard holds, Talent gains and coleman gains.

Beautiful. God Bless George Bush.

Jeffords. That little red light in the corner of your eye, that's your career on life-support.

Big loser? Judas McCain. The talk was that he and Linc Chafee would switch if the switching was safe. That leaves them both in a bad light.

Other big loooooooooooossssssers tonight: Clinton/Gore. One analyst on KSFO (SF) tonight said "Clinton is history." We can only hope. Gore may realize it more than Clinton, because there will always be the dysfunctional Democrats who will ge ga-ga for Bill, so he'll have an audience (particularly, sadly, among blacks) even if he is never a political factor again. Prediction: because of the results tonight, Al Gore will NOT run for Prez in 2004.

It's still (21:40 MST) and the Democrats on the radio are still prediction wins in MO, MN, CO. Of course, a big GOP pickup would be interesting.

In 2004, the Democrats will have the bigger number of Senates seats to defend.

Jeffords will write a new book. It will be titled,"Wont Anyone Hold Mah Beer?" The foibles of a shameless man without a home!

So, any bets on Jim Jeffords' new line of work?

Be Seeing You,
