A few highlights from tonight:

Daschle is now minority leader again, don't have to wait until January.

Carville putting his head in a trashcan on CNN. (Where it belongs)

Mondull, a relic from the failed Carter administration, is finally done in politics for good.

I generally do not wish pain on anyone; but for sore loser De Muck Rats, I make an exception. Happy days are here again!

Can I just say, this is a moment I will treasure forever. I'm only 19, I'm a college student and it's often discouraging to think that the American people will elect Dems. But tonight... oh, I think I understand what 94 was all about now.

I'll remember how this feels. I'll be working twice as hard next time. God Bless America!

The DU'ers are split about 50/50. Half are moving to Canada. The other half are gonna stay to fight the next civil war, which they claim starts next Tuesday or shortly thereafter.

They are currently asking around to see if any of their posters actually OWN any guns to contribute to the war effort.

OK, i actually made up that last part about the guns.

Aw, you guys are just mean-spirited. I, on the other hand, intend to behave with the same dignity and decorum that my DU counterparts have shown, smiling through the tears, heads held high, hand shading their eyes as they seek bravely in the distance for a better America.

Kiss it, you socialist simps. I'll use my influence with Ashcroft to keep you b@stards out of the camps if you're nice...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Sorry.

There's another DU thread where several of them have posted things along the lines of "Our only chance to win in '04 is to go to the left!" God, I hope they do.

Schadenfreude is not becoming.

But I sense trouble here. At this point it looks like the Right kind of (election) night, for the large part -- but take a look at the lessons not learned. This guy doesn't trust the Dems' leadership -- right enough, but for the wrong reason. His solution is more of what brought the Clintonistas to power -- and what is sinking them and the party they subverted tonight.

Perhaps we won over them tonight, but we have not won them over. They are still there opposed, they still hold their power base: their pet teachers' unions, their union slaves, their plantation blacks, their repressive and intolerant universities, the liberal media, the corrupt judiciary, the bloated self-serving bureaucracies. They have not learned honesty, ethics, honor, or morality (and that's just for starters). They still live in a universe redefined to such an extreme degree that whatever "is" means, it does not mean "is."

It seems we have won a battle and that's cause for rejoicing. But I see no plan for winning the war, heck, I see no plan that even indicates that there's a war, and that is cause for grave concern because that's the way to defeat. We have to retake, and work to retake, the cultural ground we've lost -- no, not lost but ceded.

If we fail to do that, to retake the lost ground, every victory will ultimately be nothing more than a brief stop along the road down to totalitarian tyranny.

Where do I turn for some representation?

Oh,come *on*... Surely we can convince him to vote Green next time... On the other hand:

Maybe Independent? Who cares, Im moving to Canada.

That sounds good too, except these whining twits never keep their promises. Did even *ONE* of the Holeywood yammerers who promised to leave, actually drag their sorry plotts out of the country? Seems like Alec Baldwin and Floozie O'Dykell and Blahblah Streisand and, and and and, who *promised* to leave when Bush got elected, are still hanging around stinking the country up.

But as long as they keep whining and threatening, there is still hope of their leaving...

Some special Missouri Schadenfreude moments:

The Widder is going to be back at the MO state fair's judging table when they roll out the pies and jams.

Missouri Republicans took the state house - something they haven't done for decades.

Jim Talent lost Kansas City, St. Louis City, *and* St. Louis County - but still took the state of Missouri. Go outstate voters!

You know, I went over to DU to relish in a little schadenfreude myself. After reading their threads, my initial sadistic glee was replaced by pity.

Don't get me wrong. I don't feel bad for them because their people lost. I will never feel bad about a socialist losing an election.

I guess I was struck at how miserable with life they all seemed. Anger, bitterness and fear seemed to permeate from every post. It seems like the vast majority of them are dyed-in-the-wool conspiracy theorists. Their worldview is so naive as to be childlike. I get the impression that many of them are seriously damaged people who take refuge in blind hatred of Bush. (At least Freepers hate Clinton for his complete lack of morals and the crimes he committed. The DU crowd seems to despise Bush just because of what he believes in.)

So I can't take much enjoyment from their misery. As a Christian, I sense that these are seriously lost souls who need help instead of ridicule. I'm happy that their candidates lost, but sad that some people are doomed to live misguided lives filled with such bitterness. I'll pray for them.
