Neal said it all....."Tomorrow he’ll be right back at work poisoning the minds of those wide-eyed kids entrusted to his care."

I wouldn't call him a Communist, Karl Marx sounds like a reactionary compared to this guy. How he must hate living in a world where there are any guns at all! That is punishment enough for the likes of him.

He hasn't apologized.

He said that he expressed "regrets". I'm sure he does regret making his hatred of America so explicitly known that it has had a negative effect on his career.

At no point does he say "I was wrong, I am sorry, I apologize".

He's a sniveling coward - and note how he put the cadet's apologies in quotation marks - implying that he felt the cadet's apologies were insincere.

All we need to know about Kirstein is this: if it were 1940, he would be marching in the streets to protest America going to war with Hitler, solely because his hero Stalin had signed a non-aggression pact with the Nazis.

That is his moral caliber.

But tomorrow he’ll be right back at work poisoning the minds of those wide-eyed kids entrusted to his care.

In a more circumspect manner, I'm sure.

No war, no air force cowards who bomb countries with AAA . . .

Wow, I never knew the U.S.A.F. hated the Auto Club so much.

I just sent the following email to him-

Dear Dr. Kirstein-

Thank you for your intemperate, illluminating letter to the Air Force Academy Cadet. This sort of over-the-top, panties-in-a-twist squawling is EXACTLY what we militarists need to cut you lefties off at the knees.

Impugning this kid's honor, comparing members of the military to the nut-job snipers...your note is a shining & perfect example of the lefty hysteria so prevalent on American campuses today.

I'm sure your note is going to show up in newspapers and newsweeklies across the country- certainly radio talk shows are going to mention it- I imagine you're going to be recieving ever so many calls for interviews and comments.

But...you will probably not be afforded the opportunity to explain your views in any detail- you have already been pigeonholed as a loon. The only thing anyone is going to remember or hear about is your abusive email to the cadet. That email is going to make the rounds, and it is going to help us tar opponents of the war as whiny, unpatriotic, rude and intemperate nutjobs.

Again, I want to extend my sincere thanks to you for splatting a custard pie in the face of the left- reading your letter this morning made my day!

Who, top guns to reign death and destruction upon nonwhite peoples throughout the world?

Who else thinks it's funny that a college prof doesn't know how to spell "rain"?

I just emailed the president of Saint Xavier and asked that he fire this idiot. here was his reply:

In fact I am looking into the very matter you mentioned.
I am concerned about isolated instances and about
underlying competence. This will be a tough one,
however, because of the courts' consistent protection
of academic freedom. It is not sufficient to prove a
professor "incompetent." The standards is "gross
incompetence" and it is very difficult to meet for
tenured professors. With best regards,
-- Dr. Richard Yanikoski, president

I ask that all freepers that see this as a total injustice to that cadet to email the president and express your concerns. Surely someone that knows nothing of history should be teaching it....

Does the "professor" have tenure? If yes, he should be the poster boy to end tenure at all universities.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."
~Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

Repeat after me professor ...

President of Saint Xavier University, Dr. Richard Yanikoski: yanikoski@sxu.edu

The more emails Yanikoski gets about the Kirstein, the more heat Kirstein feels.

I'm the mother of a 4-degree cadet (freshman) at the USAFA. This email went through the Wing like wildfire. An order went out as quickly as possible to squelch responses to the professor from other cadets; and, of course, that command was obeyed. But, by that time, many responses had already been sent. Then the word got outside the Academy, probably by cadets sending it to their parents. I know there was much discussion (and not-so-tempered responses) by the parents of cadets.

The really funny thing is that on this prof's webpage, he promotes students having their own opinions. But by stifling the letter from the cadet, he was, in essence, making decisions for St. Xavier students instead of letting word about The Academy Assembly be dissemminated throughout St. Xavier University and students deciding for themselves whether they wanted to attend or not.

I wonder even now how many students at St. Xavier know about the Assembly after all the brouhaha.

Thanks for posting this. I heard Boortz talking about this yesterday, and wondered if it was "real". I wonder if this turkey has tenure? That question is probably answered in the thread, will check back later.

Well, there's good news and there's bad news.
The bad news is that the professor personified the mindset of the American academe. The good news is the Cadet personifies the mindset of our American fighting men and women.

Robert Kurpiel, Parliamentarian

Kurpiel is region 18 president for FBLA and employee of Bubby's Bagels. He is a part of many parliamentary associations. In the coming year, he will attend the Air Force Academy and pursue a military career. Following his military career, Kurpiel wants to return to political activism as a Democrat.

The prof based a fellow Democrat. The kid's a Democrat!
