I like JC quite a bit, but Condee Rice is my pick. She has an intellect hard to match, as well as the common touch. JC is a pretty sharp blade, though, that is for sure. I can't stress enough how we need an overhaul of the education system. Homeschooling and private schooling is not enough. V's wife.

To all the people worried that the Republicans will become to complacent. Won't put up a fight for 2004. To those people worried that we're going to blow it. To those worried that this was just a blip and the Democrats will come back strong in 2004. I have one thing to say:

Don't worry. Karl Rove is in charge of the Repbulican campaign.

Woohoo!

Oh and, Boomer Sooner and Go Hawks!

Dave

P.S. Oh and also, Pelosi as Minority Leader? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

She's a good choice but she's already employed and he's not. He could also get the SEC job since he was on the Corporation Commission here in Oklahoma before his election to Congress.

I saw Senator Frist on Fox late Tuesday and this guy knows how to run campaigns and he seems to be aware of all the dirty dem tricks. He should be the Majority Leader not Cave-a-Lott.

I believe President Bush just has to nominate them again and the Senate can either grant a vote or not.

I agree. I think the Pubbies need to think about their leadership too. I think Lott has proven he's not up to the task in the past. I would prefer a leader with some backbone because you know the Dems are gonna throw everything at us now.

"Helen Thomas, the dean of the press corps - who is more outspokenly liberal than her peers - asked Fleischer if George Bush believed the election results gave him a "mandate" for "going to war with Iraq, privatizing Social Security, weakening the Civil Service Commission and so forth?" Fleischer told the ancient reporter:

"Helen, you sound like a commercial that didn't work."

One would assume that Helen's less liberal media accomplices would have only mentioned just one of the talking points she was given....

"...Here's hoping the Dems will scour DU to fill high-profile leadership positions in the party..."

LOL!

I've only visited DU a few times...

My take on it was that it's a 95% yawn-fest with a 5% dash of psycho-weirdness for seasoning.

DU as the D.C. Demos 'Farm Team'...

Interesting concept!

....we should look long and hard at the overconfidence of the Dems that brought about their missteps...

Very good point. This was brought up by George Will today as well - not to make the mistake we did after the 1994 House elections where bills were flying without making sure the American public understood clearly what was going on.

Pro-lifers will not vote for Condee Rice. Just like dems couldn't mobilize their left, Condee Rice just won't do it for the right.

Perhaps...but I think she would make an excellent Senator from California...who's up for relection next? Boxer?

Democrat Congressman Accuses Bush of Lying to Provoke War
NewsMax Wires
Monday, Sept. 30, 2002
WASHINGTON – Two Democrat congressmen visiting Iraq, one of whom accused President Bush of lying to provoke war, urged the United States Sunday to take Iraq at its word on allowing unfettered international weapons inspections and stop "provoking" a new Gulf war.
The congressmen - David Bonior, D-Mich., and Jim McDermott, D-Wash. - said Iraqi officials they met in Baghdad had all promised that inspectors searching for weapons of mass destruction could enter any site they wanted at any time, but that at the same time Iraq wanted to be treated with dignity.
"They say to the person they will allow unrestricted, unfettered inspections, any time you want, anywhere you want," Bonior said in a live television interview with ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
"They want their sovereignty respected ... they want to be treated with some dignity and respect, but basically they are suggesting that everything will be open for the inspections."
McDermott, who like Bonior voted against war with Iraq in 1991, added: "They said they would allow us to go anywhere we wanted, and until they don't do that, no one needs to do this coercive stuff where you bring in helicopters and armed people and storm buildings.
"I think you have to take the Iraqis on their face value ... They should be given a chance, otherwise we're trying to provoke them into war." (continued)

Sure let's treat them with dignity like we did North Korea.

We have LOTS of work to do and prayers to keep praying. We can't afford to be complacent. This is war and the democrats are our sworn enemies. They won't take this sitting down. I'm sure they're out there now trying to think up ways to defeat us next time. It's WAR folks, right here in our own country and it's as dangerous as any attack on our land from any other country.
