Overall, it sounds like you did good -- didn't waste time and got the police there as soon as humanly possible. Even if you had been carrying (whether or not this is approved by the "authorities"), your actions were preferable. Outnumbered and outgunned, anything you may have had would have only been viable as a final option.

You did run a serious risk factor in the possibility of being seen speaking to the clerk, his confusion, and then you being on the phone. Depending on what these goblins were hanging out there for, things could have gone quickly south, locked door or no. If you had a cellfone, (did you?), you could have departed and phoned while rolling, although this too could have been seen by the otherhumans and prompted a hostile response. Not being there, I'm purely guessing. I'm damn glad things worked out OK.

Did the goblins get nabbed, by the way? If they did, or even if they didn't but saw you, there may be a risk of being recognized at a later date.

OK I got all the way to AAAbest's post # 62 before I found one I liked (imagine dat :o) Only mistakes I see don't amount to shit if you survived the situation WD. What you did worked. What would I "suggest" next time ???

Have your pistol and cell phone on or near you 24 & 7 as danger is not on schedule. (you ain't been reading my posts ? Just looking at the pictures Huh !!:o).... As to going in the Shop & Rob when such activity is afoot.........don't ! Keep walking past the door and around the building and down the street and make your call.

Bottom line IMO is ya didn't freeze at the sight of such an arsenal and was cool enough to keep moving from a threat that was not aware of "you". A Good Day is the one you live through. You did fine.

I had a little altercation at Wally World last evening that I walked away from. I little push followed by some words (in spanish which I do not understand - german I can ssort of handle). The clerk at the store was kind of bug eyed after it was over, but a guy pushing to the head of the line is not worth it. I just explained to him where the line started was not where he was standing. He bumped me pretty good on the way by, but I wished him a good day. He left just as the store off duty cop showed up. But it was a comforting feeling to walk from the store with one of my hands kind of out of sight. I didn't know where he disappeared to and sure did not want to be taken by surprise in the parking lot.

My one piece of advice to you Wardaddy would be to get your TN concealed carry permit. Your actions were comendable and you lived to raise your little ones which is what it is all about. However the extra margin of safety from carrying is very comforting.
