Mansoor Ijaz: Major Al Qaeda Attacks Expected in Weeks

A Pakistani-American businessman who helped negotiate a deal turned down by the Clinton administration for Osama bin Laden's extradition to the U.S. said late Saturday that the terror chief's al Qaeda network is planning to launch major attacks on the U.S. and two other countries by the end of the month.

Asked about a report by Interpol this week that warned: "All intelligence experts are agreed that al Qaeda is preparing a major terrorist operation," Mansoor Ijaz told Fox News Channel's "Foxwire," "Within the next two to three weeks I think we're going to be looking at something pretty tough."

"We should be worried," Ijaz told "Foxwire" host Rita Cosby. "This is almost identical to the information I have.... I've been told there's going to be three simultaneous attacks; it will be three different continents."

Ijaz said the the U.S. and United Kingdom would be "primary targets," while the Far East or India would likely be the third target.

You know, *if* AQ is going to attack, I can see them attacking American interests overseas. As silly as it sounds, it would have less of an impact on the world community than if they accomplished another 9-11 on American soil. The world rallied behind us then, but support has been dwindling. By keeping terror attacks off our soil, AQ has a better chance of succeeding a larger goal. Just my observations.

Either way, they will pay.

Geeez .. don't these fools realize they are not scaring us .. they are pissing us off

Pissing us off is O.K. with them if they can thereby impell a backlash against Muslims, or a gratuitous attack on an Islamic government that would start the global warfare and nihilistic destruction they lust for in their black hearts. They've tried to do the same thing with Israel. Of course the jihadi terrs would love it if they could trigger an complete collapse of Israel (and a subsequent genocidal, jew-killing blood bath) but short of that they have been more realistically hoping for a massively disproportionate and destructive counter-attack by Israel that would lead to U.N. intervention. (U.N. forces would be effective in restraining Iraeli security measures, but would not be able to stop Pallie terror attacks, and the attrition campaing would therefore shift favorably toward the Pallie terrs.)

Unfortunately for the evil doers they are up against opponents whose leadership is smarter than they are and (despite the adolescent nuke-mecca bravado from FR troglodites) more cool headed. Israel has had to deal with a campaign of attrition warfare horrifyingly directed against hearth and home, children and mothers, but they are fighting back hard and smart. They will eventually wear the jihadis down, or failing that will have the big wall built in another year or so. At that point their civilian population will be more defensible. If the Pallies do not stand down and negotiate peacefully by this point, The Israelis threaten a unilateral settelement of the land issue under which the Pallies will get something, but less than could have been had by negotiation. At this point the terrs may even lose their popular support among the Pallies. If not then both terrs and Pallies can go pound their (small patch of) sand.

From the American side Bush will continue patiently chipping away at terror supporting nations, keeping focus, one or two states at a time, maintaining the current multifaceted global anti-terror ops, and creatively exploiting every opportunity and opening as they arise, never pushing to the point of giving the jihadis their global armaggedon.

So, yes, in sum, you are correct. The jihadis' efforts, whether to frighten us or to piss us off, are counter productive, but only because we are smarter and saner than they are. Absolutists, nihilist, utopians, puritanical radicals simply do not have access to the resources of creativity, critical analysis and self-correction, and moral fortitude that free and civilized people do. They will always lose in the end.

AMERICAN ISLAM EXPERT SAYS ISRAEL ADOPTED HIS STRATEGY TO COUNTER SUICIDE BOMBERS -- Urges Bush to Issue Ultimatum to Terrorists

Excerpt:

In Dr. Morey’s new book, “Winning The War Against Radical Islam” he proposes a “final solution to international terrorism.” He believes the U.S. government and its allies should issue an official ultimatum to the terrorists: “We must tell all terrorist groups that the next time they destroy the lives and property of Americans at home or abroad, we will destroy Mecca, Medina and Dome Mosque.”

Dr. Morey’s rationale pinpoints what he believes is an Achilles heel. “The greatest weakness of Islam is that it is hopelessly tied to sacred cities and buildings. If these cities and buildings were destroyed, Islam would die within a generation as it would be apparent to all that its god could not protect the three holiest sites in Islam.”

“If there is no Mecca, you have no place to make your pilgrimage to,” Dr. Morey says. “If there is no Mecca, you have no place to pray to five times a day,” he says. “The root problem is the religion and the religion is based on those holy sites.”

“Without those sites,” he adds, “the religion can’t function--Islam collapses like a deflated balloon.”

To be sure, many will find Dr. Morey’s views extreme, and he even admits his solution is “radical.”

“As soon as there is a nuclear cloud over some American city and hundreds of thousands of Americans die, or as soon as suicide bombers show up at Wal-Mart you will see people in the United States saying we’d better take care of this now.”

“More and more within the intelligence community are coming to see in the end that’s what we have to do,” he says.

Lately, Dr. Morey has been doing five or six national radio programs per week dealing with counter-terrorism issues, and he’s often asked about racial profiling. “I believe in terrorist profiling, not racial profiling,” he says.

“The majority of Muslims are not Arabs—they are Malaysian and Indonesian,” Dr. Morey says. “In the U.S. over 50 percent of Muslims are African American,” he says. “What we are looking for are terrorists.”

“The president of El-Al Airlines has gone on record saying our airline security procedure in which we’re looking for weapons instead of terrorists will not work,” Dr. Morey says.

Dr. Morey’s profiling dragnet has a broad sweep. “We have to profile anyone whose origin is one of the terrorist states listed by the State Department,” he says. “We have to look at all Middle Eastern men aged 16-30. We have to do background checks on individual American Muslims who have traveled to Afghanistan or Pakistan etc.

“Anyone who was a state or federal prisoner and converted to Islam while in prison needs to be profiled,” he adds.

Another concern for some experts are inroads being made by Islam south of the American border. “The fastest growing mosque in California is the Hispanic mosque in L.A.,” Dr. Morey says.

“Mexican coyotes are bringing up armed terrorists into this country out of Mexico,” he says. “People are coming in from Iraq and Iran and they’re coming in armed with machine guns and grenades.”

“They can walk into the U.S. as if they were illegal aliens coming to pick tomatoes, but they’re aliens here to destroy this country,” he adds.

“America has to do something.”

I propose that we solve the problem (of Islam) right now instead of waiting for the next terrorist attack(s).

I agree with his analysis.

Mecca itself needs to be on the table.

He left out Q'um the Shi'ite holy city in Iraq. Plenty of fat slob mullahs there.

If  Q'um is spared then the Shi'ites will say they are the rightful inheritors of Islam.

What about a little equal fear mongering on our part?

Why not insinuate that we might not be able to control loose, angered militias in America who might launch an attack on sacred monuments of the Muslim faith if terrorists attack America again.

Perhaps placing the blame of the destruction of Mecca on the terrorists should they attack our nation, would encourage the peaceful Muslims (there are peaceful Muslims, no?) to reign in and refuse to harbor psycho nutcase terrorists.

They have every reason to not announce the real attacks and contantly announce fake attacks.

This is my line of thinking also. Why and how would this group of Al Qaida maggot cells have become stronger over the past year? If anything they are running around like the keystone cops running into each other trying to organize, money depleted, using empty threats to make us rethink striking Iraq, probably their major 'base' in all this.

Logically, why didn't they hit us with everything on 9/11/01 before we had the chance to respond? Doesn't make sense. Sounds like sabre rattling to me, from the ghost warrior Elvis bin Laden ordered up by his loyal, somewhat dispersed, followers.

Folks, MEMRI are good guys. They just translate Arab/Middle Eastern sources into English so the world can see with what we're dealing.

Know your enemy.

Thank you. I was surprised that he was raised near the area where I grew up and we share an alma mater. Interested, I did a little research and came up with more info about him. Interesting, indeed.
