XMAS TERROR THREAT TO UK

The Government has called for public vigilance against a possible terror attack in the weeks before Christmas.

It said the level of danger is the same as it was in the aftermath of last year's September 11 attacks.

Home Secretary David Blunkett says Britain is "in the front line" because of its strong support for US action against the al Qaeda group.

"We cannot guarantee that we can protect everyone...all the time.

Danger

"All of us have got to be vigilant coming up to Christmas and the New Year," Mr Blunkett said.

He gave no reason for highlighting the threat in coming weeks, but warned specifically of danger at airports and other major gathering points.

Mr Blunkett's remarks, echoing warnings from US officials about the threat from al Qaeda, will be reinforced by PM Tony Blair on Monday.

Officials have said that Mr Blair will set out the remaining threat from al Qaeda but caution against handing victory to militants by running scared or bringing the country grinding to a halt.

Favoured target

France has also called for public vigilance against possible terror attacks.

Mr Blunkett's French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy, said intelligence reports also pointed to France as a favoured target of militant Islamic groups that remained active in Europe.

We cannot guarantee that we can protect everyone...all the time.

But don't think for one minute that Britain will reverse its rulings taking away the right of the British to keep and bear arms, and let their citizens once again defend themselves..

I wish Americans truly understood the enormous importance of our Second Amendment, and would put into practice every day the rights protected by it.

Several suicide bombings in Israel have been thwarted by armed citizens.

How many Americans, even those who have concealed carry permits, actually carry every day?

XMAS TERROR THREAT TO UK

Being peaceable by my innate personality, I hope nothing happens to our friends
in the U.K.

But I hope that anyone who plans/funds this sort of attack took note of
how one Hellfire missle from a Predator ruined the day for some of these pukes.

And the (apparently few) rational Muslims need to really talk to their buddies.
Otherwise, the next provocative act will mean they'll be wearing radiation-protection
suits to make their next pilgrmage...
OK, it's a bravado threat...but eventually there might be an act that will
not only break the camel's back, but that of it's riders

I expect to see the former as well as the latter, i.e., suicide bombings that could be thwarted by armed citizens and hijackings that could be twarted by armed pilots/air marshals, as well as the type you mention.

Since 9/11/01, some air marshals have started using the smartcarry holsters I linked above.

Neighbor, I never leave without a sidearm and a 12 ga. shotgun along, and since the snipers, I am seriously thinking about something longer ranged in addition.

No, it won't stop certain things- but it evens up the odds a little.

...Guns wouldn't have helped anybody at OKC. Or the first WTC bombing. Or TWA800....

No. But they would have helped in Wichita.

One could argue that the amount of violent crime which our Ruling Class not only tolerates but in many ways aids and abets is an ongoing terrorist attack. A "terrorist", after all, is looking to effect a political outcome. The unprecedented level of violent crime in America has had a HUGE political impact. I expect the growing violent crime rate of the UK will also have an enormous political impact.

In any case it it utterly fascinating that a country where a Witchita horror occurs is obsessing about "foreign devil terrorism" in the Near East, the Middle East, and the Far East--much of which our government spawned in its ongoing struggle for economic and political supremacy in the post-Cold War world. Equally strange is this British warning--considering the immigration policies that their Ruling Elite has enthusiastically embraced:

Definitely Not a Terrorist Attack in the UK

If they do attack, it will indicate how little they understand us or our history. I remember a World War II radio sketch entitled "The Londoner and the Hun" which encapsulates how little they understand us or our reaction to anything they try - part of it goes, and forgive my imperfect memory:

HUN: "You'll have noticed, said the Hun, what has been and gone and done, to the highways and the byways of your town. But that's nothing, said the Hun, to the fusillade of fun, that the Fuhrer has in mind to bring you down! Aren't you staggered, aren't you cowed, aren't you praying out aloud, aren't you dreading every setting of the sun for the bombs that come a'screaming? Don't you wish that you were dreaming, said the Hun."

LONDONER: "Shut your big blue pencil mouth, said the Londoner, there's a Channel to the South, said the Londoner. And the bully who's your boss, doesn't dare attempt to cross, so he'll take it out on us. But he better think again, said the Londoner, we can stand a lot of pain, said the Londoner. And we've the guns, and we've the guts, so you can tell Adolf, he's nuts, said the Londoner!"

HUN: "You're forgetting, said the Hun, that your town is overrun, with the homeless and the hungry and the old. And the palace of your king, has a badly crippled wing, crazy Cockney, the blitzkrieg's just begun! It's your diet for duration, by the stubborn hestitation. What about capitulation? Said the Hun"

LONDONER: "Why you nasty Nazi nark, said the Londoner. How you miss the ruddy mark, said the Londoner. All the deeds of which you're proud, are but stitches in your shroud - and every little child which you slay, is a crime FOR WHICH YOU'LL PAY. Vent your spleen, said the Londoner, God will save our King and Queen, said the Londoner, and with His aid, we'll put a crimp, in that paper hanging pimp, said the Londoner!"

This is our history. This is who we are. And those who have tested it time and time again have ended up with the heads handed back to them. We stood up to Hitler, what do these goat buggerers think they can do in comparison?

Regards, Ivan

We stood up to Hitler, what do these goat buggerers think they can do in comparison?

Aside from all the great cheap laughs we got to see when old Benny Hill shows were
played here in the USA, one of my best recollections was a song with the
refrain of something like "Ting-a-ling-a-loo".

Basically it was a humorous ditty about a serious history: when England stood alone.

I especially liked the one part when Hill did a short speaking portion in the middle about all
the different countries they had to face.
And followed with "and so I stick me finger in me other ear and say ting-a-ling-a-loo".

I've probably butchered this song with my recall.
But it was a great show of Anglo defiance in a sweaty situation.

The Islamics have an even worse understanding of the USA/UK than Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo,
and all their followers combined.

As my brother said after returning from his grand tour of Europe/U.K. following
college: "We're English here. We just happened to have Germans somewhere in the blood line."

Flanagan and Allen actually sang my favourite World War II - I should sing it to you sometime:

Round the back of the arches

I'm a guy who's never going to roam again
Once I'm in me old home town
By and by, I'll see my little 'ome again
Then I'm going to settle down
Round the back of the arches
Down the sunnyside way, where the black of the arches
Never seems to remain
That's where I used to be as 'appy as a multimillionaire
Everybody there's a jolly good pal

'Round the back of the grey skies
There's a lining of blue
When we're back of the grey skies
All'll be shining and new
And with no storm clouds up above us
I will see old pals again
Round the back of the arches
Down the sunnyside lane!

If it was just me, that would be one thing, but I see in other people, particularly my gran - whenever some madman gets on the television and threatens the UK, I can feel my blood boiling, my fists and teeth clench and think, "Who the bloody hell does he think HE is?"

If the Islamists try it on, they will earn their destruction. We will not be cowed or intimidated or frightened. Quite the contrary - if they want to die instantly, they will try an outrage on us.

Just watched 1940's House on PBS. It was about what life was like during the war in England. After I watching that I bet your Gran could stand up to anyone and anything. You Go Girl! :)

Life was hard in London during the war. But even so, I think I understand my Gran sufficiently to say that she and her neighbours would have attacked any invading Germans with broomsticks and kitchen knives rather than surrender.
