Wow everyone's up early this morning. Good morning all.

In memory of my fellow Vietnam helicopter pilots who were killed in that war the following were lost on NOV 13. God bless them all.

1968 WO1 Loren E. Engstrom -- 170 AHC, Age 23, La Canada, California

WO1 Engstrom of the 170th Assault Helicopter Company (gun platoon "Buccaneers") was killed when his UH-1C Huey gunship (tail number 66-15163) suffered a complete tail rotor failure caused by a 50 caliber machine gun round shearing the tail rotor drive shaft during a rocket run. Total control was lost and the aircraft crashed and burned killing WO1 Engstrom and the crew chief, SP5 Arthur E. Keesee.

In memory of WO1 Engstrom -- KIA; Binh Dinh, South Vietnam.

A 170th AHC UH-1 "Buccaneer" gunship of the type WO1 Engstrom was flying at the time of his death. This particular aircraft is a B model, as distinguished by the rotorhead, the C model had a 540 rotor system, which made it a little faster and more manueverable.

That really sucks. We were freep mailing over the weekend. Was it over the SnowBunny saga? I will miss him.

I agree. What happened to SnowBunny? I noticed the USO thread has changed drastically. Can anyone even give a hint of what occurred?

Good morning, Daisy and good morning, Mo. I had such fun reading about you.

"If I'd known you were coming, I'd have baked a cake".....it's okay, really, you don't need to bother! LOL! That is the funniest story.

Daisy, you have done another outstanding job with this profile and thread. It is excellent! We are so blessed to have the kind of people on FR...your kind, Mo's kind...what great FReepers!

Thank you for being one of FR's Finest, Mo! Have a wonderful day! What darling children you have and a beautiful family!

Thanks for the kudos but I cannot tell a lie, Billie helped me out a bit with the graphics....

Nope, I didn't - you found and put together ALL the right graphics, background, the works! You had a question on only one little teeny table - the one around Lodwick.

(So, maybe only a little teeny white lie, guys) :)

Congratulation's on being featured here at The Finest's today. I was laughing so hard at your cake story. Everytime I'm in the middle of making a cake the phone rings and I either forget one of the ingredient's or worry that I have.
Note to self: take the phone off the hook when you're making a cake!

A mother's love is like an island
In life's ocean vast and wide,
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the restless, rising tide.

A mother's love is like a fortress
And we seek protection there
When the waves of tribulation
Seem to drown us in despair.

A mother's love is a sanctuary
Where our soul can find sweet rest
From the struggle and the tension
Of life's fast and futile quest.

A mother's love is like a tower
Rising far above the crowd,
And her smile is like the sunshine
Breaking through a threatening cloud.

A mother's love is like a beacon
Burning bright with Faith and Prayer
And through the changing scenes of life
We can find a haven there....

For a mother's love is fashioned
After God's enduring love,
It is endless and unfailing
Like the love of Him above.

For God knew in His great wisdom
That he couldn't be everywhere,
So he put His little Children
In a loving mother's care.

Being the only West Coaster of the hostess group, I often "stay up" when it is my turn to post the thread-especially if the profilee is an East Coaster...Then I get up and join the thread while I have my coffee. Sounds grueling, but it really isn't cauz then I can justify an extra long nap in the afternoon...hee hee....
