Clinton Advisor: CIA Covering-up Saddam's Role in 9/11

The Central Intelligence Agency has suppressed evidence that Saddam Hussein had a hand in training Osama bin Laden's kamikaze hijackers for the 9/11 attacks, as well as previous al Qaeda attacks on U.S. interests around the world, an Iraq expert who advised ex-President Clinton said Tuesday.

"We have a situation which the bureaucracies that dealt with terrorism in the Clinton years, including the CIA, accommodated Clinton's desire not to hear that Iraq was involved in any of these attacks," Clinton 1992 campaign advisor Laurie Mylroie told Fox News Channel's "On the Record."

"They continue in that position and it will cost American lives," added the Gulf War expert, whose book "The War Against America" details Saddam Hussein's role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Mylroie, who has taught at the Naval War College as well as Harvard, said "indications" that Saddam was involved in 9/11 include "Iraq's training of non-Iraqi militants to take over airplanes using weapons like boxcutters," a reference to Salman Pak, Saddam's notorious airliner hijacking school located 45 miles south of Baghdad.

"Osama bin Laden and Iraqi intelligence work together," she contended. "Iraqi intelligence provides the direction, training and expertise for these major attacks. And al Qaeda provides the cover, the ideology and the foot-soldiers."

Mylroie isn't the only Clinton advisor who believes that Iraq had a hand in 9/11. Former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey has publicly endorsed accounts from Iraqi defectors who describe a 7-year-old hijack training program at Salman Pak.

Last November he told the Fox News Channel:

"We know that at Salman Pak, on the southern edge of Baghdad, five different eyewitnesses - three Iraqi defectors and two American U.N. inspectors - have said - and now there are aerial photographs to show it - a Boeing 707 that was used for training of hijackers, including non-Iraqi hijackers trained very secretly to take over airplanes with knives."

What is amazing is, the democrats being stealth led by the sinkEmperor in the 2002 election cycle were allowed by clinton to lay their necks bare challenging Bush to show cause for a connection between Saddam and al Qaeda. Who are the members of the teams that are fighting each other here?

This is a very bitter and nasty fight. ... One of the things that is going on is that people who accommodated Bill Clinton's desire not to hear of Iraqi involvement in any of the preceding terrorism are continuing on that line, probably with an eye to their past positions they held and maybe probably their careers; they feel their careers may be endangered.


The Defense Policy Group for the Defense Department, this panel of very esteemed Washingtonians, people from power in the past and such, recently came to some decisions. Can you tell us about that?

I was not at the Defense Policy Board meeting. Some people who were, some friends, told me about it. And what I heard was that, in some respects, my work on terrorism played a prominent role. There are people [who are] involved in this debate with the book who are familiar with this book [and] who have endorsed it. I think it makes a compelling case that Iraq was involved in the first attack on the World Trade Center back in 1993, and then it raises questions -- serious questions -- about whether Iraq has not been involved in subsequent terrorism.

LM: Iraq and Bin-Laden are working together. Bin-Laden provides the ideology, he provides the foot soldiers, and he provides a smoke screen for Iraq, while Iraq provides the direction and the expertise for these attacks.

You know, the more I read, the more I think Bill Clinton is the most cunningly successful Republican mole in American history. I'm really beginning to believe that the guy was a plant by the VRWC designed to destroy the Democratic Socialists in place. It looks like it may have succeeded admirably.

 

You have to admit, it couldn't have worked any better if Conservatives had planted him. Think of it, in less than ten years, X42 has had a huge part in handing over the government to Republicans. Join that with the takeover of state houses like here in Texas, and it's downright eerie.

In the interview, which was part of a March 1998 Missler Report, Laurie Mylroie mentions a microbiologist with dual Iraqi-American citizenship who was living in New Jersey that was integrally involved with the '93 World Trade Center bombing. This individual, whose name is 'Waly Samar', worked closely with the Iraqi masterminds who unsuccessfully attempted to destroy the Twin Towers on the second anniversary of Kuwait's liberation from Iraqi occupation. In the interview, Dr. Mylroie pointed out that this New Jersey microbiologist was in a position to unleash bioterror in America and called upon the FBI to arrest him. Nothing was done by the FBI then and, as far as Dr. Mylroie and I know, nothing has been done to apprehend this individual to date.

I urge you to listen to this March 25th, 1998 interview of Laurie Mylroie from The Missler Report.
A little more than four minutes into the interview, Dr. Mylroie states the following:

"You can demonstrate Iraq's behind the thing (the '93 WTC bombing) which I did in an article in the National Interest Winter '95-'96. And furthermore there is associated with the mastermind Ramzi Yousef a microbiologist with dual-citizenship Iraqi-American who lives in New Jersey."

Then, 8 minutes into the interview, she makes the following profound comment:

"If the FBI were ever to wake up I could give them the names of people who could be involved in such an attack (hypothetical future bioterror attack) because they were associated with this terrorist Ramzi Yousef. They could go arrest those people....arrest the microbiologist in New Jersey..."

After I heard this, I emailed Laurie about he comments and received the following response this afternoon:


JP: 8 minutes 10 seconds into the interview, you declare that this microbiologist in NJ should be arrested!

Laurie: Five years ago, he was in NJ. If he's still in the country, he should be.

JP: What's up?! Is this Waly Samar?

Laurie: Yes.

JP: Has the FBI done anything at this point, or should I get louder!

Laurie: It was passed on to the FBI through official USG channels. The thing is that I don't know if he's in the US, because he left the country at one point, and then I could never pick up his trail again.


Later on, Dr. Mylroie emailed me this note:

Laurie: FYI a little more detail. I told this (Waly Samar information) to the Public Affairs Officer at NY FBI in September 1994. The man was concerned (as any sensible person would be) and he was sure to have reported it. But this all was blocked in Washington, where the FBI was accommodating the Clinton administration, which did not want to point a finger at Iraq.

More American civilians died on September 11 than on any other single day in this nation's history. Such a huge disaster is, almost necessarily, the result of major, multiple errors. The current spasm of finger-pointing and memo-leaking is bringing some mistakes to light, but they are all tactical, i.e. whether 9/11 could have been averted by vigorously pursuing suspicions of the FBI field offices. Even in the best of circumstances, U.S. authorities cannot catch every major terrorist attack in the making. When those attacks are on the scale of 9/11 even one failure is unacceptable. Notably absent in the present debate is consideration of the strategic blunder underlying 9/11

(February 26) - Would it be fair to infer that US decision makers now know that Iraq was the moving force behind the World Trade Center bombing?

When Clinton hit Iraqi intelligence headquarters in June 1993, saying it was in retaliation for Saddam's attempt to assassinate George Bush, Clinton also believed that it would take care of the Trade Center bombing. But it didn't.

I cautioned Martin Indyk in December 1994, when he was NSC adviser on the Middle East: "One strike on an empty building at night will not stop Saddam forever."

If Bush has reems and reems of info then he should release some of it. I've been waiting to see some of it, and I support his actions to oust Saddam.
If he's trying to protect our agents then he can release the stuff from from '93 that Lorie is talking about.

it is so obvious that saddamn supports terroristic acts against us that i have doubts...primarily...bush hasn't acknowledged...why?...wouldn't it have helped get passage of a tougher resolution thru the u.n.?...to have shown *proof* of saddamn involvement in support of terrorism?...if he has proof...why didn't he disclose it during the long effort at the un?...why isn't he showing his proof now as we prepare for a possible significant loss of USamerican loss of life in iraq?...if he has proof...when could be a better time than now or at the un?

I've had the same thoughts and concerns. It may be the 'sources and methods' argument, but even that has to be put aside when the chips are down. I don't know, maybe we're not there yet.

hopefully this is a case of withholding information from the peasants that could *truly* be hurtful to our soldiers to disclose...hopefully...but i feel like the arabs have been involved in so much more...like flt. 800 going all the way back to the crash of the troop plane in gander, nf in '85 when we lost 248 of the 101st. and 8 crew members...i believe...who were returning from muslim territory...i have believed for years that it was related to the arabs(muslims) and was covered up because of our insatiable oil appetite...ain't that hell?...all the covering up that has been done because the oil was much more important than the truth?
