Love your fun response. Perhaps you are right about my smugness.

But it seems plausible to me that the string pullers behind the scenes--probably the ones who facilitated their acquiring nukes in the first place--may have made it abundantly clear that they would not be used until they were told to.

Also, I've read convincing docs in my other hobby research topic that the sequence of threats was designed, planned way back in 1970.

That first stage, there would be a huge and devastating increase in terrorism against particularly the U.S.

Then 2nd stage there would be another war with Iraq. Some say with that war literally bleeding into WWIII.

Supposedly after that will be a supposedly trumped up fear mongering about evil ET's out to conquer us etc. etc. etc.

I doubt the nukes will be used unless and until the real world powers are ready for WWIII to start.

Along with all this are the reports of several to a dozen or 2 who've dreamed of our beloved leader's limo being rocketed or some such and a dictator taking over after that--some feeling it being Clinton. What a nightmare that would be! But I've long felt that Dilldo was eagerly pushing for just such a scenario even when he was in power.

Then there's the reports of the Russian defectors about nukes being in U.S. cities.

etc. etc. and etc.

The times are a changin'

The thicken plots.

I don't know that any of us from almost any perspective can say a whole lot with certainty.

The most certain thing I can say--is I'm convinced God is still ultimately in control and will ultimately have His way as Scriptures outline.

But the outline also includes tons of suffering between here and there.

Oh boy. They don't care if it is a HOAX or not? Just makes a good controversy to jazz up the show. Better call him.

Ah, webtv maintians a cache of their own; I'll bet that is the problem. That's how the guy who first got @home to work to be efficient. I guess it will filter down to you later. Or perhaps try a dialup connection. (I'm on dsl.)

I agree. As to the suffering, short of a miraculous revival spirit taking hold, I believe that too ... I also believe that in the end the liberty will be upheld by His hand as it was with our fouders.

I have written somewhat about a fictional scenario along the lines you discuss. If you are interested, check it out ...

A WW III Techno-thriller with a Constitutional Attitude.

With the discovery that this was a hoax we are all in a very dangerous position now because not only news media but also each one of us will be so sceptical of the next threat that we may only come to believe it while watching the moon illuminated with earthshine.

"I have very little doubt, we WILL use nukes again in our lifetime. America may be brought down one day. But our NATURE is one of rebelling against oppressors no matter the cost, to the last man, woman and child. They have NO idea how fiercely independent and stubborn we are. Viscious and brave, with ZERO fear at the event horizon."

I agree. The islamists do not understand the American mind. They do not understand our history. They do not understand how we think at all. They greatly underestimate us. They mistake our compassion for weakness. They judge us by their own pathetic standards. This will be their undoing. We may be knocked down, but we will come back fighting with a vengeance. Many of us grew up with the threat of nuclear war over our heads. We see it as the unspeakable action that requires a swift and decisive response. I believe we are hardened to retaliate if and when that time comes. As horrific as it was, flying airplanes into buildings did not incite us to the type of action that a nuclear attack would. The islaminazis have not seen our American-style righteous anger fully acted out yet.

First, you write splendidly.

Second, you are correct that they don't understand us. But at the same time we don't understand the Arab mind or the Muslim mind. If we did, we would all be signing up to join the armed forces.

A good thread on understanding Arab culture can be found here >>>>http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/747968/posts

Thanks for the link. I'm closing up my office here at work but will be checking it out when I get home. I think of the saying: "know thine enemy".
